THE POSITION

The Director of the Larkspur Library will work closely with the City Manager to shape and implement the Library’s vision and future.   This position will develop lasting and effective collaborative relationships with library team members, City Council, Library Board, community organizations, County and other local libraries, and benefactors to develop and foster intriguing programs and services beneficial to the local community and the City.  Though there is currently not a timetable for development, the City is planning for the eventual construction of a new Library and Community Center, and this position is a key member of the staff team involved with this project.

REPORTING TO THE CITY MANAGER, THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL:

• Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate all library programs and services, including outreach, reference, children’s, teens’, technical, and circulation services.

• Prepare, administer, and monitor library budget.

• Identify sources of revenue and funding, including grants and library collections.

• Serve as staff member to the library Board of Trustees; work with the Board, local officials, community members, community organizations, and staff to plan and deliver library services and programs.

• Interpret and promote the library, its services and needs to the public.

• Instill a culture and expectation of superior customer service for all staff.

• Prepare and submit technical and special reports; make oral presentation.

• Serve as board member of MARINet and the North Bay Cooperative Library System.

• Direct the development of technology plans to integrate current and new technology into the delivery of library and information services; ensure MARINet’s automation system upgrades and standard system-wide procedures are implemented in the Larkspur Library.

• Collaborate with a variety of City staff, the Library Board, Friends of the Library and the Library Foundation in facility enhancements, renovations, and new construction.

• Partner with other Department heads to deliver community services effectively.

• Participate in City management committees, work groups and taskforces as assigned.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following:  Assist students, primarily 3rd through 8th grades, with homework assignments; monitor behavior of students; ensure that the Homework Center environment is conducive to school work; welcome volunteers and help them connect with students; answer homework related questions from parents; set up materials and keep Homework Center area neat; track monthly statistics; provide occasional activities for after completion of homework such as crafts or story read-aloud; and perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skill and abilities are qualifying.  A Typical way to obtain the knowledge, skill and abilities would be:

Education & Experience

Education equivalent to the completion of 12th grade is required.  Prior experience working with children is highly preferred.  Knowledge of mathematics through algebra I and a high level of grammar, spelling and writing are required.  Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) is highly preferred.

• Various age appropriate activities and crafts.

Ability to:

• Assist 1st-8th grade students with homework and provide academic support in an engaging, proactive and positive manner.

• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
• Work with little direct supervision.

• Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) is highly desirable.

Must be physically capable of performing the essential job functions of this classification.

THE POSITION
The City of Hayward is excited to announce its recruitment for the position of Family Counselor. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is a journey level professional classification and the incumbent performs the full range of counseling duties within the Youth and Family Services Bureau of the Hayward Police Department.  Employees at this level receive occasional instruction as new or unusual situations arise. Positions in this classification differ from the higher level Counseling Supervisor in that the latter is responsible for providing direct supervision to professional and clerical staff.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for a special individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Children’s Access to Care (ATC) Team. The Clinical Therapist I/II position will appeal to individuals are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community.  The Clinical Therapist I/II will report to a Program Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Will meet with individuals in person or talk to them over the
  phone to conduct screenings to ensure individuals meet specialty mental health services.
• Will assist individuals to link to various resources (i.e., managed care plan, Tri-City programs such as the Wellness Center, TCG, Peer Mentors, etc.) and provide warm-handoffs.
• Will complete same day biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans.
• Will formulate a differential diagnosis concerning the nature of the mental health challenge(s).
• Maintain records of all activities relating to clients’ care and must adhere to Agency and service billing requirements;
• Work on a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and must have excellent attendance.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for one (1) special individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I for the Adult Full Service Partnership (FSP) Program.   This position is a field based, bilingual position which requires the incumbent to meet with clients at their home, in the field, at the shelter, etc.  The Clinical Therapist I will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Program Supervisor.   

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Will initiate and conduct individual, family and group counseling/psychotherapy sessions;
   
• Provide crisis intervention to mentally ill/emotionally disabled individuals, groups and families;
   
• Provide case management services on or offsite;
   
• Meet with clients for regular therapeutic interviews, guide clients in understanding of their illness and contributing personal, social and economic factors;
   
• Assist clients in developing realistic plans and advice clients on community resources;
   
• Maintain records of all activities relating to clients’ care and must adhere to Agency and service billing requirements, etc.
   
• Work on a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and other duties as assigned, etc.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is actively recruiting for one (1) special individual to serve as a Quality Improvement Specialist II for the Quality Assurance (QA) Team within the Best Practices Department. The Quality Improvement Specialist II will report to the Quality Improvement Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Develop, implement and oversee QA practices, policies and procedures to comply with specified County, State and Federal laws and regulations;
   
• Review charts, Electronic Health Records (EHR) medical records, and reports prepared by staff; conduct random chart reviews consisting of at least a 5% sampling on a quarterly basis utilizing audit tool(s);

• Coordinate, involve, and train appropriate staff in the process of chart reviews;

• Create and maintain internal quality assurance bulletin and provide this information to clinical program leadership and staff on a monthly or quarterly basis; maintain and archive external quality assurance bulletins and documents through tracking system;
   
• Facilitate quality assurance meetings, workshops, and committees, as needed, in order to enhance documentation quality;
   
• Compile, monitor and report performance outcomes related to compliance and provide support to clinical department with outcome measures and general support with quality assurance performance measures; perform other duties as required.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for one (1) special individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Children’s Full Service Partnership/Transitional Age Youth (FSP/TAY). The Clinical Therapist I/II position will appeal to individuals who are passionate about working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families.  The Clinical Therapist I/II will report to the Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provide field-based individual, family and group therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services for children and transitional age youth and their families; 
   
• Conduct mental health crisis assessments, intakes, annuals, and create treatment goals;
   
• Provide field visits in the home or at school;

• Complete and ensure that LADMH documentation is updated in Electronic Health Record (EHR) regularly;

• May be required to transport client(s) in his/her own vehicle and/or a Tri-City vehicle;

• May be required to work on an On-Call rotation every four (4) weeks and other duties as assigned.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for three (3) special individuals to serve as Community Navigator I/II’s as part of the Los Angeles Homeless Measure H Initiative within the MHSA Department.   These positions are limited term (18 months) positions with the potential of being extended. The positions require field work and on-call duties for 1 or 2 weeks every month.  The Community Navigator position works to engage with individuals and families at risk of homelessness or who are in need of a variety of services in order to secure housing stability.  Services that include formal and informal support tailored to their particular culture, ethnicity, age and gender identity. These positions will report to a MHSA Program Supervisor.   

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Recruit community-based organizations, faith based organizations, and other community groups to become a part of an active and ever growing locally based support network for people, including those most challenged with housing and stability;
   
• Follow-up with people they have engaged to ensure that they have connected with support structures and received the help they need;
   
• Utilize HMIS/Coordinated Entry System to enter client information;

• Provide advocacy to clients and assist them in getting connected to appointments with agencies and health care providers;

• Promote and make presentations at emergency shelters, community food banks, intergovernmental agencies, local not-for profit associations, and community centers and other duties as assigned.

The City of Salinas is accepting applications for Youth Program Assistant. These are temporary assignments with varied schedules that may work at any branch. Temporary employees may not exceed a maximum of 25 work hours per week or 1,000 work hours per fiscal year (fiscal year runs from July 1 – June 30).
 
Summary of Duties: Under general supervision performs routine duties to assist in community outreach programs and educational activities for youth and young adults.

Distinguishing Characteristics: This position is an entry-level position aimed at engaging local middle, high school, and community college students to participate in their community through a variety of programs.

Education/Experience: An example of the education and experience which most likely demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties would be any combination equivalent to one year of high school. 

Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid California Identification Card or California Driver's License.  For applicants 15 to 18 years of age a current valid work permit or the ability to obtain a valid work permit before hire.

• Library and Community Services Department rules and regulations.
•  Computers and related equipment, hardware and software to perform data entry, review, retrieval and research.
