ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Civil Engineer will work under the direction of the City Engineer and/or the Public Works Director and will lead the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Section. This supervisory position will lead a team of engineers and technicians in the implementation of the City’s CIP, including the planning, design, construction, and inspection of a variety of projects.  Responsibilities include supervising employees, directing complex professional-level field and office engineering assignments, developing strategies and schedules for implementing the CIP, assisting with CIP budgeting, and playing a significant role in making a difference in the community! 
 
The Senior Civil Engineer classification is an exempt, mid-management level position.

Public Works CIP projects involve planning, design, coordination with end users, bid package preparation, and construction management. Therefore, exceptional organizational and project management skills are imperative to achieve department and City goals. Additionally, successful performance requires the ability to independently implement programs, projects, and policies in conformance with generally accepted standards, including possessing thorough knowledge of contract administration, project management principles and supervisory practices.

The Senior Civil Engineer will manage assigned staff and consultants and assist with budgeting tasks within the Engineering Division. Furthermore, the Senior Civil Engineer will provide and participate in critical team leadership to ensure that all engineering services, goals, projects, and initiatives meet the high-performance standards of the Department and City.

The Information Technology Department is recruiting for a Business Analyst within the City Products-Projects-Portfolio Office (C3PO).

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a Risk Analyst to join our highly collaborative and dedicated team in advancing the Housing Authority’s risk management and insurance programs. The Technical Infrastructure Division designs and engineers solutions that address and meet the City's strategies built around Smart City initiatives, such as Digital Inclusion and Digital Equity, Public Wi-Fi expansion for Economic Development, Endpoint Modernization and virtualization, Multi-cloud frameworks, and digital analytics to support data-driven decisions. The Technical Infrastructure Division includes citywide wired and wireless network infrastructure, core server infrastructure, public and private cloud infrastructure, and hyper-converged infrastructure. Salary Information: The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate's qualifications and experience. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Information Technology Engineer (EITE) I/II shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

Salary Range including the 5% non-pensionable increase:

• Enterprise Information Technology Engineer I: $121,583.28 - $147,944.16 annually
• Enterprise Information Technology Engineer II: $128,812.32 - $156,942.24 annually

The EITE I/II classifications are represented by the Municipal Employees' Federation (MEF) bargaining unit.

This position is part of an exciting fast-paced team responsible for mitigating risks and managing a power portfolio comprised of hundreds of megawatts of renewable energy projects.

The selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:
 

• Support the administration of power purchase agreements (herein, referred as "contracts"), including monitoring and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Review, understand and interpret contracts; Support development of processes to ensure that the contracts are managed and settled timely, accurately, efficiently and in compliance with the contracted terms.
• Prepare, review and verify the accuracy of settlement statements and invoices for contracts.
• Support the administration of contract prepayment transaction activities related to invoices settlement.
• Interpret, analyze, communicate and resolve issues that arise during contract administration and support the dispute resolution process.
• Identify and flag any problems related to administration of existing contracts and suggest improvement for future contracts. Support implementation of process improvements in contract management.
• Review and verify weekly CAISO settlement invoices and resolve disputes in case of discrepancies.
• Support development of procedures for settlements and invoice verification.
• Collaborate with internal and external parties during negotiations and execution of contracts and advise on implications to settlements process.
• Support the manager in development of analytics to validate settlements, measure contract performance and compliance.
• Analyze settlement and market data to address management questions and provide insights.
• Maintain an understanding of existing and new regulatory laws related to California energy regulation that could impact power procurement and settlements function.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
