DEFINITION:
Under general administrative direction of the City Manager, plans, directs, manages, and oversees the activities and operations of the Public Works Department including streets, utilities, water treatment and wastewater treatment, ensures all resources within each division are properly allocated and managed; provides long range planning for department programs, projects, and needs; coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager.

Join the City of Berkeley's Planning and Development Department in its effort to protect the health, safety, and welfare of citizens by enforcing building codes and regulations. As a Certified Building Inspector I or II, you will perform skilled inspection work in the enforcement of building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, zoning and related codes and regulations that govern new building and housing construction, additions, alterations, repairs and use of existing buildings. - Position Summary
Under general supervision, operates a variety of transit vehicles to transport passengers along specific, assigned routes according to the District's requirements. Provide service in a safe, courteous and reliable manner. Responsible for written reports and other information as required. Upon completion of the Golden Gate Transit Training Program, the employee operates regularly scheduled assignments. All runs will originate in either Santa Rosa, Novato or San Rafael.
