Under general direction of the Director of Ferry Operations, Ferry Division, this position is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of our ferry services, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.  Works with leadership to determine business needs and collaborate with staff to ensure that vessel operations provide a value to our customers and a high standard of safety, security, and training.  This is a critical leadership role that requires strong managerial skills, a deep understanding of maritime operations, and a commitment to excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee and Manage Operations Department safety, security, and training programs, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local mandates, and required training for all department staff.  Serves as a key member of the safety committee.
• Manage the Division Safety Management System and Action Reporting program.
• Manage the department oversight responsibilities for the Drug and Alcohol Program. 
• Oversee the tracking and maintenance of documentation of all credential updates for the Operations Department. 
• Guide a diverse team of Vessel Masters, Deck Hands, Operations Supervisors, and Terminal Assistants, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.  Oversee onboarding process with new personnel as well as any issues with personnel or pay.
• Assist with scheduling and schedule coordination with outside organizations.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience, focusing on safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.   Assist with customer service issues.
• Interacts with the Districts Jones Act attorneys to follow-up on employee and customer incidents and oversees maintenance of all associated records and documents.
• Assist as a liaison with union officials and participates in labor negotiations as a member of the District’s team.
• Under direction of the Director of Ferry Operations, manage the department's budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost control.   This includes annual review of current operating schedule and staffing requirements.
• Oversee maintenance of all paper and electronic department records and documents.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain effective communication channels, ensuring seamless coordination between Ferry Operations and Ferry Maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety standards, environmental regulations, and labor laws.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies, unions, vendors, and community organizations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in ferry operations, and proactively implement relevant improvements.
• Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, providing insights on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
• Oversee subordinate staff in delivery of excellent customer service.
• Implement and/or review disciplinary actions and grievances.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance and performance required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

• A Bachelor’s degree in maritime studies, transportation management, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in transportation operations, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. 
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency using advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; prepare analysis, and presentations.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing ferry operations, including scheduling, safety, security, training, represented employee issues, and customer service. 
• Experience in maritime transportation operations technical and administrative functions, including budget, labor, and operations management is desirable.

Required License: 

• Must possess and maintain a current, valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record. 
• A U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariners License is preferred.

Physical Requirement: 

Working inside and outside in all weather conditions.  Work around fumes, odors, and dust in an occasionally high noise level environment.  Ability to climb stairs and move up and down ladders.  Ability to travel to District facilities.  Routine use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment.  Ability to respond to emergencies.  Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.

The Judicial Branch of California is accepting applications for the position of Budget Supervisor (Fiscal Supervisor) for the Budget Services office.  

The Budget Supervisor (Fiscal Supervisor) in the Court Budget Unit (CBU) will plan, organize, supervise, review, and evaluate the work of assigned staff responsible for base and court program allocations and reimbursements of approximately $3 billion annually for the 58 trial courts. The supervisor oversees the compilation of trial court financial documents and required reporting; reviews requests for funds held on behalf of the trial courts, cash advance loans, emergency trial court funding requests, and budget change proposals from trial courts and Judicial Council programs; oversees the preparation of the Court Interpreters Program and Judges Compensation expenditure projections; and directs workload related to new funding methodologies and allocation recommendations to the Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee (TCBAC) and the development of fiscal analysis for legislative bills.

This position also oversees the lead staff to TCBAC ad hoc subcommittees and subcommittees, preparation of annual reports to the Legislature, and other various special assignments for Budget Services management and the Executive Office.

This position works independently with limited supervision and works directly with court leadership including presiding judges, court executive officers, local fiscal court officers, advisory committees and subcommittee members, leadership and management from other Judicial Council offices, and all units within the Budget Services office.

Position Summary

Under general direction of the Director of Capital and Grant Programs, performs a variety of complex financial, analytical and administrative functions to support development, implementation, and management of the District’s capital and grant programs. Department work activities include: long-range capital program and fixed asset planning; annual capital budget development, accounting, monitoring, analysis, and reporting; grant program development, implementation, accounting and administration; and, related legislative monitoring, analysis and reporting. This position collaborates with District and outside agency staffs in order to meet program goals and objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting in activities related to capital and grant program development and administration. The responsibilities are focused primarily on grant and capital programming, monitoring, administration, audits, financial analysis, and specifically include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop the District’s Annual Capital budget in Excel using pivot tables, macros and advanced Excel formulas (Lookup, SumIf, etc.), including coordinating annual capital budget project solicitation & review with Division Managers & staff, and review and analyze project costs, justifications & schedules
• Manage ongoing tracking and internal/external reporting of capital project budgets and expenditures, including preparing monthly capital expenditure reports for the Board of Directors through District’s financial management system
• Maintain the District’s ten-year capital and fixed asset replacement plan including coordinating development of project-level descriptions, budgets, cash flow, implementation schedules, and program- level descriptions, priorities, financial analyses, and reports
• Assist in planning, programming, organizing and implementing the District’s grant program activities including: researching potential grant opportunities, developing grant funding strategies and identifying projects for specific grant programs; completing necessary grant programming and application materials; preparing grant related reports for the Board of Directors; tracking the drawdown of funds by grant program and project; and coordinating lobbying activities associated with earmark funds
• Assist in grant contract administration activities including: developing grant contract documents; administering grant rules, regulations and requirements; developing grant amendment requests; tracking project activities, and preparing project status reports for granting agencies, District management, and the Board of Directors
• Assist in the development of the District’s capital element of Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), Regional Transit Capital Inventory (RTCI), Program of Projects (POP), Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and Transit Asset Management (TAM), including development and input of project and fixed asset replacement information
• Assist with internal and external financial or grant-related audits and reviews of the District’s capital, grant, fixed asset, or other related programs and facilitate the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Triennial Review
• Assist in writing and reviewing staff reports for the Board of Directors that may impact the capital budget and/or the District’s grant funds
• Work with project managers, department heads, accounting and finance staff to resolve any grant, project, or budget discrepancies or issues
• Evaluate and develop standardized procedures for internal capital and grants related functions to streamline work processes and maximize office efficiency and productivity
• May represent the District’s interests at federal, state, and local meetings
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service
• Performs additional related duties as assigned
• Regular and reliable performance and attendance is required

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field. Additional qualifying experience on a year-per-year basis may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of one year of recent (must be within the last three years), progressive and verifiable professional experience in financial or management analysis or equivalent experience including capital budget, capital program planning or grants administration.
• Must possess intermediate level of skill using computers and application software, specifically all Microsoft Office application (Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word).

The Role:

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Senior Budget Analyst (Senior Fiscal Analyst) for the Budget Services Office.   

The Senior Fiscal Analyst will provide advanced, complex, and specialized analytical and technical budget support to the Judicial Council’s Facilities Services Capital Outlay program. The Senior Fiscal Analyst will be responsible for fiscal oversight and budgetary control of several active Capital Projects. The Position
Under general or direct supervision, performs a wide variety of law enforcement duties involving crime prevention and investigation, protection of life and property, and enforcement of laws, codes, and ordinances; performs investigation duties, assists in the preparation of cases and testifies in court; cooperates with other law enforcement agencies and City departments; may provide lead direction for subordinate departmental employees and volunteers; provides information and assistance to the public; and performs related duties as assigned.

The Foster City Police Department is centered on the philosophy of Community Oriented Policing. As with all employees, the Police Corporal is expected to make non-enforcement contacts with the public in an effort to more clearly identify the needs of the community, and to assist the public in solving community problems. 

Class Characteristics
This is a lead-level class in the sworn officer series responsible for performing a wide variety of law enforcement tasks in support of a municipal police department. Incumbents perform the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from Police Sergeant in that the latter exercises technical and functional direction over and provides training to lower-level staff on an assigned shift.

Education and Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade; successful completion of 30 semester units of college course work at an accredited institution.  An Associate's degree or higher is desirable. The minimum education requirements may be met by the possession of an Intermediate Post Certificate.

Experience: Possession of a POST Basic Certificate at the time of application. 

Licenses and Certifications:

• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, and a good driving record, to be maintained
  throughout employment.
• Possession of a valid Basic Certificate issued by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). 
• Possession and maintenance of firearms qualification.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications and supplemental questionnaires received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of four Oral Panel Interview (Technical - weighted 30%; Tactical - weighted 30%; Community - weighted 30%; and Presentation - weighted 10%). An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 80% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. The list will remain in effect for at least one year unless exhausted sooner. 

The department will invite the most qualified candidates from the eligibility list to a final department interview. The Police department will make the hiring decision.

San Mateo County Health is excited to be able to offer a full-time, benefited, unique job opportunity to well-qualified individuals for the position of Supervising Nurse Practitioner (Supervising NP) Forensic Medical Unit, as part of San Mateo Medical Center's Keller Center.

The Keller Center for Family Violence Intervention is a unique outpatient medical unit affiliated with San Mateo Medical Center Emergency Department. We perform forensic medical exams on victims of assault and abuse and work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes law enforcement, the District Attorney’s office, Child Protective Services, Aging and Adult Services, and several community agencies. We also provide education and serve as a resource for other community hospitals and clinics.

The Supervising Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with the Medical Director of Specialty Services and Deputy Director of Ambulatory Nursing in planning, organizing and directing the activities and staff of the Keller Center along with developing standards of practice for forensic exams and reporting. This classification is distinguished from the Nurse Practitioner Series for having full administrative supervisory responsibility over other Nurse Practitioners. The selected individual will spend up to 30% of time in direct patient care at SMMC, which includes performing forensic medical exams for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, elder abuse and child abuse. Testifying in court will be part of the job responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• At least two years of forensic examination training and experience
• Trauma Informed Care training and experience
• Experience bringing diverse viewpoints and stakeholders together successfully to accomplish goals and commands the trust and respect of others

THE POSITION

The City of Daly City is seeking a highly skilled, business-oriented Senior Management Analyst with strong accounting, budgeting and financial management background to assist in budget development, projection and implementation of Citywide budgets.  This position reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and plays a critical role on the City’s budget, working in partnership with other departments.

The successful candidate will prepare budget reports, complex financial forecast and analyses, update budget forecasting model, monitor revenues and expenditures, make presentations, and provide staff assistance in support of Citywide activities.

DEFINITION

Under general direction of the Director of Finance & Administrative Services, performs a wide variety of responsible, professional, administrative, staff assignments; administers a wide variety of interdepartmental and City-wide projects and programs; assists Director and Deputy Director of Finance & Administrative Services as needed; and performs related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Assists in program, policy and budget development, implementation, coordination, revision, review, evaluation and monitoring; provides support services for the City Council meetings and speaking before the City Council; participates in interdepartmental task forces and committees; researches, collects, compiles and analyzes complex financial and other data; prepares recommendations for budget requests, grants, new programs, modification of services and equipment; plans, organizes and coordinates assigned city-wide projects and monitors departmental projects; analyzes, interprets and explains City policies and procedures.

The County of San Mateo's Information Services Department seeks an IS Systems Specialist III to serve in the Security Division. Under general supervision, the individual in this position performs the most complex and varied technical tasks related to the configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and monitoring of the County's security infrastructure. This position serves as a technical leader and technical subject matter expert in specific security area(s) and is called upon to analyze existing and future computing environments and ensure that all solutions comply with County policy, frameworks and industry accepted best practices.

As an integral part of the Security team, the IS System Specialist III will be responsible for system administration across a variety of platforms and services such as: Firewalls (Palo Alto); Intrusion Detection and Prevention (Palo Alto Threat Prevention and Wildfire); Endpoint Protection Suite/XDR; Security Orchestration Platform (XSOAR); Cloud Security services; XDR SIEM monitoring and management; Vulnerability identification and mitigation/remediation.

The position also requires support in ancillary systems that support IAM/ARM platforms such as SolarWinds, Active Directory, OKTA. Additionally, this position will perform intrusion event investigative and reporting activities as required. Similarly, incumbents in this class must regularly analyze requests for new system implementations and ensure that strategies are applied that support best practice security design and integration with existing security infrastructure. Furthermore, this position will be tasked with performing analysis and data production and reporting in support of any identified indicators of compromise, audit and policy compliance across the enterprise.

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in management information systems, computer science, or a related field and four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in supporting and implementing information technology infrastructure and/or server administration and specific to the specialty area assigned which includes data center management, IT facilities management, storage and backup, server management and server operating systems, and/or configuration management and event management. Additional related experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-for-year basis, up to four (4) years.
