Description
The City of Menlo Park's Information Technology team is seeking a temporary IT Specialist who has a broad range of support skills to provide day to day computer/desktop support, end-point configuration and management, helpdesk support and management, and maintain and troubleshoot various systems hardware, software, peripherals, A/V, telephones and mobile devices. Support to be provided onsite throughout the City at physical workstations, as well as via phone, video, email and internet.
This is an hourly, at-will, part-time (non-benefited) position offering valuable experience in information technology and public service.
Ideal Candidate
An ideal candidate will possess the following:
Relevant Technical and Product Skills
- Microsoft Windows desktop operating system environment
- Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Office suite and various business software applications
- Various cloud-based software applications
- HP, Lenovo and various desktop hardware platforms
- Sharp, HP, and various printer platforms
- Audio/Video equipment installation
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
Education and Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by college-level coursework and/or training in information systems, computer science, or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience providing technical support in the installation, maintenance, and repair of information systems and infrastructure.

Salary
Information Technology Specialist I: $40.09 - $48.73 per hour
These are non-benefited, temporary positions. A temporary employee may not work more than 1,000 hours per year and will receive sick leave in accordance with State law.
