We are now actively recruiting for one (1) part-time Behavioral Health Advocate I position within our Wellness Center, Tri-City's community hub for activities that promote recovery, resiliency and wellness for people confronting mental health challenges.
The Behavioral Health Advocate I position provides advocacy, guidance, feedback, outreach and support to help families to access and work more effectively with the systems involved. These positions report to a Program Supervisor.
This position will perform the following essential duties, including, but not limited to:
- Provides peer to peer support services in the office and/or in the field including, but not limited to outreach, support, encouragement, guidance, advocacy, and referrals to external resources and services for clients and their families; builds rapport with clients and their families through sharing stories of lived experience and recovery.
- Encourages and supports clients to fully engage in services; provides outreach and assists clients in addressing and overcoming barriers to treatment.
- Prepares and facilitates a variety of wellness groups and group activities; monitors groups to ensure compliance with group rules and encourages client participation.
- Assists clients and families to understand behavioral health problems and steps to recovery.
- Serves as a role model to build and sustain connections and relationships with clients and the
community.
- Accompanies clients to meetings and appointments to support their self-advocacy and facilitate better communication with service providers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
Education:
- Behavioral Health Advocate I: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
Experience:
- Behavioral Health Advocate I: Direct lived experience either personally or as a caregiver of someone who has recovered from behavioral health illness and/or substance use disorder.
Preferred candidates will be bilingual in Spanish or Vietnamese, have experience working as peer support and in self-help groups, & have experience as a Transitional Age Youth with lived experience.

HEALTHCARE WORKER MANDATED VACCINATIONS
As a public behavioral health care agency, Tri-City is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our staff and clients. As part of our commitment to maintaining a healthy workplace environment, we have established the following requirements and guidelines:
- Proof of Vaccination: All new hires are required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 upon employment. Alternatively, you may seek an exemption under our Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination policy.
- Booster Doses: Eligible new hires must also receive booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Mask Requirement: Employees may remove their masks in the workplace if they meet the following conditions:
- Receipt of the 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine, available from Pfizer, Moderna, or Novavax.
- Receipt of an annual influenza vaccine.
- Submission of proof of both the updated COVID-19 2024-2025 vaccine formula and the annual influenza vaccine to Human Resources.
