Hourly Range: $33.44 - $44.81 

Internal Opening Date: July 21, 2025 

External Closing Date: August 4, 2025

(9/80 Work Schedule with alternating Fridays off).

How You Will Make an Impact: 

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a Housing Program Specialist I, which is an entry level position to the Housing Programs Specialist series, to serve as the primary contact for all applicants applying for housing assistance programs and the administration of rental assistance programs. The incumbent will perform technical and programmatic aspects, requiring the interpretation and application of regulations policies, and procedures to determine the eligibility of program services, ensuring accurate processing of data, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include:  

  • Coursework in liberal arts, humanities, social work, business, public administration, or a related field is desirable
  • A minimum of two (2) years of responsible experience providing direct client services, including caseload management functions in an assisted housing or other social services program and customer service, is required.

  • Organized – ability to maintain an organized workflow to ensure work is performed timely and efficiently.
