The City of San Carlos Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a motivated and community-focused Recreation Coordinator to lead and support a wide range of programs. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee seasonal activity guide production
- Coordinate contract classes for all ages
- Manage Club Ed summer camps
- Fee Assistance Program
- Oversee rentals for City-owned facilities
- Supervise part-time staff
- Promote programs through social media and community outreach
- Evaluate program effectiveness and participant satisfaction
- Maintain records and prepare reports
- Assist with budget planning and monitoring
- Support department-wide events and initiatives
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or a related field
- At least one year of professional experience in recreation
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Special Requirements
- Ability to speak clearly and understandably
- Dexterity to type and maintain records
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform light physical tasks (e.g., setup and breakdown of activities)
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and overtime
Licenses and Certifications
Possession of an appropriate California driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
