Tri-City is now accepting applications for a Senior Behavioral Health Specialist position within our Adult Full Service Partnership (FSP) Program. This position will provide a variety of rehabilitative support services to clients to facilitate behavior modification, skill building, and self-care and safety in individual and/or group settings. This position will report to the Clinical Supervisor.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide skilled assistance and training to other Behavioral Health Specialists in direct service organization, client care, and other Behavioral Health Specialist duties.
- Evaluate the needs of participants experiencing behavioral health challenges; plan, develop, and implement individual and group rehabilitation activities under the guidance of licensed professional staff; as assigned, be responsible for developing and implementing specific rehabilitation group activities.
- Participate in staff conferences with other disciplines to link clients with housing, providers,
outside agencies, organizations, or departments as appropriate. Perform as client’s primary
case manager.
- Perform crisis intervention counseling at a level not requiring licensure as a Behavioral health
professional; and assist professional staff in planning the range of care needed to deal with
participant’s care.
- Develop and determine appropriate referrals for the continuation of care.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or similar human service-oriented
degree plus 2 years working in the behavioral health field as a specialist in behavioral
modification, physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment.
OR
Associates degree with 4 years of experience working in the behavioral health field as a
specialist in behavioral modification, physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational
adjustment.
OR
6 years of experience working in the behavioral health field as a specialist in the fields of
behavioral modification, physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment.
Candidates must be bilingual in Spanish.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and have Welligent/Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience.

FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:
Sign-on Bonuses: $2500 for eligible positions.
Merit Salary Increases: Annually based on performance, budget availability and supervisor approval.
CalPERS Pension: 2% @ 55 for Classic Members and 2% @ 62 for PEPRA Members; employee contributes 7% for Classic and 6.75% for PEPRA. No Social Security.
Vacation: 80 hours per year, increasing with years of service with a maximum of 240 hours; cash out option available.
Sick Leave: Full-Time employees = 88 hours per year with no cap.
Holidays: 11 paid holidays per calendar year plus an additional 16 hours of Floating Holidays.
Longevity Pay: $2500 at 5 years of service; $5000 at 10-35 milestone years of service.
REVISED! Flexible Work Schedule: 9/80, 4/10 and/or intermittent teleworking, where applicable and approved by supervisor. **
Health Insurance: Medical (Kaiser HMO), dental (MetLife PPO) and vision coverage (EyeMed) of which 80% is paid by Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA).
Life Insurance: Paid at one time annual salary, paid by Tri-City MHA with additional optional coverage available.
Deferred Compensation (457b): Available to interested employees; no employer match.
