City of Corcoran

The City of Corcoran is located in the heart of California’s Central Valley, the most productive agricultural region in the state. The City was incorporated in 1914 and recently celebrated its centennial. A sense of community pride is abundant in Corcoran and is evident in the City’s charming downtown, an active chamber of commerce, a strong youth recreation league, and committed service clubs and volunteers. Additionally, the Corcoran Unified School District is one of just over 100 school districts in the nation to have an Apple Distinguished Technology Program.

Corcoran ranks as one of California’s 50 safest cities and is within an hour drive time of Fresno and Bakersfield. With a current population of approximately 12,500 the community is positioned for growth and continued opportunities.

The City of Corcoran is governed by a five member City Council and operates as a “Council-Manager” form of government. The city workforce consists of 68 full-time employees within the Community Development, Finance, Public Works, Police, and City Manager departments. The city’s operating budget is approximately $22,522,000 with a general fund budget of $5,034,000.
