Description

The Human Resources Department with the County of San Mateo is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Employer Brand and Marketing Analyst.

The Position

The Employer Brand and Recruitment Marketing Analyst (Marketing Analyst) will work in partnership with the Deputy Director and Talent Acquisition Manager to develop and strengthen the County’s employer brand by leading internal and external recruitment branding and marketing efforts, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across all HR Department communication outlets, hiring platforms, and outreach initiatives.

The Marketing Analyst will also lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the County’s recruitment marketing strategies and practices to attract top talent. 

In addition, the Marketing Analyst will serve as a collaborative partner with recruiters, Human Resources executives, and hiring managers across a variety of customer departments to develop strategic campaigns that attract a diverse applicant pool to county positions.

The Marketing Analyst will drive the Talent Acquisition Division’s recruitment strategies by introducing and integrating modern and technologically advanced marketing methods and tactics into the recruiting process.

The Marketing Analyst will also advance the County’s brand by creating new strategies and continuing ongoing campaigns such as our “Work with Purpose”, “Work with Us”, employee spotlights, and video content showcasing employees at work and their impact to the community.

Key Priorities

  1. Develop and execute integrated employer branding and communication strategies to increase brand awareness, message consistency and engagement.
  2. Design and implement proactive, data-informed sourcing and outreach strategies to attract, engage and sustain talent pipeline especially for hard-to-fill and executive roles.
  3. Plan and coordinate career fairs and other community outreach initiatives in collaboration with Talent Acquisition, Human Resources and County Departments.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Marketing strategist and advisor who uses emerging digital and social media trends to drive awareness of employment opportunities and hiring events.
  • Data analyst who evaluates recruitment marketing performance to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Effective collaborator who builds strong relationships with diverse community members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent planner and organizer who can accomplish short- goals, efficiently manage multiple assignments, and gain support from others to achieve shared goals.
  • Marketing or communications professional with a strong foundation in Human Resources, primarily in recruitment, to accurately and effectively market the County’s employer brand.
  • Creative individual who produces engaging recruitment marketing content across video, print, and digital formats using modern design and marketing tools and platforms.
  • Experienced analyst who evaluates recruitment marketing strategies through an equity lens to ensure inclusive and effective outreach to diverse populations.
  • Community-engaged who will support local talent pipeline initiatives and effectively engage with community leaders, businesses, and educational institutions. 

 

Application/Examination

Open & Promotional. Anyone may apply. Current County of San Mateo employees with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in classified regular, probationary, or extra-help/limited term positions prior to the final filing date will receive five points added to their final passing score on this examination.

The examination process will consist of an Application Screening (weight: pass/fail) and an Interview process, which may include assessment center components, such as a pre-interview writing exercise and/or a presentation (weight: 100%).  Applicants must successfully pass the Application Screening to move forward to the interview. Candidates must successfully pass the interview to be placed on the eligible (hiring) list.

Depending on the number of applications a screening committee may select those applicants whose education and/or experience appear to best meet the needs of the position. For that reason, not all applicants with the minimum qualifications are guaranteed to advance through the recruitment process. All examinations will be given in San Mateo County, California and applicants must participate at their own expense.
