The City of Sausalito Invites Applications for the Position of

INTERIM PROFESSIONAL -- Temporary Resiliency and Sustainability Manager

Pay: $42.36 - $56.90 Hourly

Temporary -- no benefits

This is a temporary position for an Interim Professional to support an approximate five-month leave of the full-time incumbent.  The Resiliency and Sustainability Manager works under general policy direction from the City Manager and technical direction from the Assistant City Manager, City Attorney, and the Director of Public Works and is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the City’s sustainability program to advance Sausalito’s sustainability vision and goals, as well as Council objectives.  The incumbent will be responsible to plan, implement, develop metrics for, track, and make presentations and reports regarding the City’s efforts and projects related to City Council and City department sustainability goals and programs. This position also acts as the liaison for City sustainability programs and performs related duties, as assigned.

This temporary position is not eligible for any benefits other than those provided by law (paid sick leave after 30 days of employment).

 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of principles, practices, and trends in sustainability, resiliency, climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy and water efficiency, stormwater and surface water quality, solid waste collection, diversion, and recycling.

EDUCATION:  Equivalent to completion of a degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Sustainability Studies or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:  Three (3) years of experience working in sustainability and environmental program development, coordination, and/or implementation preferably for a municipality, other local government entity, or a related non-profit.  Program, grant, or project management experience is highly desirable.

SELECTION PROCESS:
