We are currently looking to fill one (1) vacancy for the Clinical Therapist I/II with our Child and Family Services Department in our School Partnership Team.
Our Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are passionate about working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families in the field, in the office, and/or in the school setting. In addition, we offer flexible scheduling options including a hybrid schedule (depending on department's needs) and bilingual pay.
The positions are responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Provide individual, family, group therapy for adults, children, adolescents, and youth with mental illness and their families; facilitate child and family team meetings;
- Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.
- Provide home, field, office and/or school services; complete all DMH documentation; participate in the on-call rotation;
- Perform routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure; completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.
- Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.
- Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.
Ideal Candidate
Education and Experience
Education:
- Clinical Therapist I/II: Equivalent to a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
Experience:
- Clinical Therapist I: One (1) year of experience providing professional counseling/therapy services in a behavioral health setting.
- Clinical Therapist II: Two (2) years of experience providing professional counseling/therapy services in a behavioral health setting.
Licenses and Certifications
- Clinical Therapist I: Possession of valid registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment.
- Clinical Therapist II: Possession of valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment.
- Clinical Therapist I/II: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, to be maintained throughout employment.
Preferred candidates will be bilingual in Spanish and have experience working on a school site and/or working with children and adolescents.
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered as qualifying. *Candidates may be hired above the minimum salary range depending on qualifications (DOQ).
Annual Salary Ranges:
Clinical Therapist I $75,806 - $96,750
Clinical Therapist II $83,676 - $106,794

FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:
NEW! Sign-on Bonuses: $2500 for eligible positions.
Merit Salary Increases: Annually based on performance, budget availability and supervisor approval.
CalPERS Pension: 2% @ 55 for Classic Members and 2% @ 62 for PEPRA Members; employee contributes 7% for Classic and 7.75% for PEPRA. No Social Security.
Vacation: 80 hours per year, increasing with years of service with a maximum of 240 hours; cash out option available.
Sick Leave: Full-Time employees = 88 hours per year with no cap.
Holidays: 11 paid holidays per calendar year plus an additional 16 hours of Floating Holidays.
NEW! Longevity Pay: $2500 at 5 years of service; $5000 at 10-35 milestone years of service.
REVISED! Flexible Work Schedule: 9/80, 4/10 and/or intermittent teleworking, where applicable and approved by supervisor. **
Health Insurance: Medical (Kaiser HMO), dental (MetLife PPO) and vision coverage (EyeMed) of which 80% is paid by Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA).
Life Insurance: Paid at one times annual salary, paid by Tri-City MHA with additional optional coverage available.
Deferred Compensation (457b): Available to interested employees; no employer match.
