Annual Salary Ranges:

Clinical Therapist I:  $75,806.43 - $96,750.37

Clinical Therapist II:  $83,676.11 - $106,794.27

Initial offers are typically made between the beginning and midpoint of the range.

 

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the ALL DEPARTMENTS.  The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high-acuity clients.
  • Within the scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.
  • Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.
  • Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure;
    completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.
  • Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.
  • Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.

Ideal Candidate

Education:

  • Equivalent to a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Clinical Therapist I: One (1) year of experience providing professional counseling/therapy services in a behavioral health setting.
  • Clinical Therapist II: Two (2) years of experience providing professional counseling/therapy services in a behavioral health setting.

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

  • Clinical Therapist I: Possession of valid registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment.

 

  • Clinical Therapist II: Possession of valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
    (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical
    Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be
    maintained throughout employment.

 

  • Clinical Therapist I/II: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, a satisfactory
    driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, to be maintained throughout employment.

Preferred candidates will have experience with Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR). They must also be able to complete all clinical documentation, assessments, notes and treatment plans within a specified timeframe. 

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered as qualifying.  The Department will determine level of hire (CT I or CT II) at conditional offer of employment.  *Candidates may be hired above the minimum salary range depending on qualifications (DOQ).

Benefits

FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

Sign-on Bonuses:  $2500 for eligible positions.

CalPERS Pension: 2% @ 55 for Classic Members and 2% @ 62 for PEPRA Members; employee contributes 7% for Classic and 7.75% for PEPRA. No Social Security. 

Merit Salary Increases: Annually based on performance, budget availability and supervisor approval.

Vacation:  80 hours per year, increasing with years of service with a maximum of 240 hours; cash out option available.

Sick Leave: Full-Time employees = 88 hours per year with no cap.

Holidays: 11 paid holidays per calendar year plus an additional 16 hours of Floating Holidays.

Longevity Pay: $2500 at 5 years of service; $5000 at 10-35 milestone years of service.

Flexible Work Schedule: 9/80 and/or intermittent teleworking, where applicable and approved by supervisor.**

Health Insurance:  Medical (Kaiser HMO), dental (MetLife PPO) and vision coverage (EyeMed) of which 80% is paid by Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA).

Life Insurance: Paid at one times annual salary, paid by Tri-City MHA with additional optional coverage available.

Deferred Compensation (457b): Available to interested employees; no employer match.

**Availability of flexible schedule and days of regular day off is dependent upon the needs of the Department and approval from Management.
