Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of over 200 employees supporting behavioral health and administrative services? Tri-City is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Assistant to join our growing HR Department and help shape the future of our organization.
Tri-City is recruiting to fill a Human Resources Assistant vacancy within our Human Resources Department. Our team works on a hybrid work schedule, which will be available an initial review period and satisfactory performance.
A brief summary of some of the duties this position will perform are:
- Provide confidential administrative support to the HR Team and HR Director.
- Coordinate recruitment activities: Schedule interviews, assist at job fairs, and represent Tri-City at community events.
- Conduct new hire orientations, onboarding and offboarding, and managing data in HR systems and spreadsheets.
- Support leave, benefits, classification, compensation, and Workers' Compensation administration.
- Prepare reports, employment verification, and maintain legal postings.
- Assist with training, wellness and employee retention programs and data tracking.
- Maintain confidential personnel and medical records, including filing and assisting in the development of new records retention systems.
- Performs related duties as required.

Ideal Candidate
Education, Training and Experience:
One year of clerical or administrative support experience, preferably with some work experience in a human resources, personnel and/or payroll capacity performing recruitment and selection, training, benefits, payroll, leave or Workers’ Compensation administration, and/or classification and compensation.
Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Possess and maintain a current valid California Driver License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle
An ideal and preferred candidate will have one year of clerical or administrative support experience working in as a Human Resources Clerk, Assistant, Administrative Assistant or closely related classification in a public sector human resources or personnel department.
Benefits
FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:
Sign-on Bonuses: $2500 for eligible positions.
Merit Salary Increases: Annually based on performance, budget availability and supervisor approval.
CalPERS Pension: 2% @ 55 for Classic Members and 2% @ 62 for PEPRA Members; employee contributes 7% for Classic and 7.75% for PEPRA. No Social Security.
Vacation: 80 hours per year, increasing with years of service with a maximum of 240 hours; cash out option available.
Sick Leave: Full-Time employees = 88 hours per year with no cap.
Holidays: 11 paid holidays per calendar year plus an additional 16 hours of Floating Holidays.
Longevity Pay: $2500 at 5 years of service; $5000 at 10-35 milestone years of service.
Flexible Work Schedule: 9/80 work schedule with the option for hybrid work, where applicable and approved by supervisor. **
Health Insurance: Medical (Kaiser HMO), dental (MetLife PPO) and vision coverage (EyeMed) of which 80% is paid by Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA).
Life Insurance: Paid at one times annual salary, paid by Tri-City MHA with additional optional coverage available.
Deferred Compensation (457b): Available to interested employees; no employer match.

**Availability of flexible schedule and days of regular day off is dependent upon the needs of the Department and approval from Management.
