ABOUT THE POSITION
Are you a strategic leader with a knack for navigating complex regulations and a passion for community? We are seeking a Building Division Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure our built environment is safe, sustainable and high quality. As the bridge between developers, contractors and the public, you will be the lead problem-solver for our department. You will manage a team dedicated to streamlining our permit processes and ensure that every project--from a backyard deck to a new restaurant--meets our standards for excellence in customer service and adherence to our adopted standards and codes. Key responsibilities include: leadership and supervision, strategic coordination, problem-solving and quality control, customer service excellence and community relations. To be successful in this role, you must possess a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership in customer service. Preferred skills include strong verbal and written communication, understanding of construction and project management, and a track record of leading successful teams.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general direction, plans, organizes, coordinates, and supervises the staff and operations of the Building Division, including permit center and office operations, plan review, and building inspection and enforcement; manages the effective use of division resources to improve organizational productivity and customer service; provides complex and responsible support to the Building Division in areas of expertise; and performs related duties as assigned.
