The City of Wheatland is accepting applications for Police Officer and/or lateral.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Wheatland Police Department is responsible for providing public safety for the city. Services provided by the Police department include uniformed patrol, investigative services, traffic enforcement and administration. Dispatch services are provided under a contract with the Yuba County Sheriff. The Police Department is staffed with 11.5 FTE positions, of which 9 are authorized sworn positions. The authorized department staffing includes 1 Police Chief, 1 Sergeant, 6 Officers, 3 part-time Reserves and 2 non-sworn positions.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Under general supervision from the Police Sergeant, to perform a variety of duties in law enforcement and crime prevention programs; to maintain order and a safe environment for the citizens of Wheatland; to participate in criminal investigations and crime prevention programs; and to provide a variety of duties relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
