Description

The City of Dixon is looking for a detail-oriented individual to fill one regular, full-time position of a Management Analyst I for the Community Development Department. The position performs a variety of professional level administrative and analytical duties in the development and administration of City programs, projects and policies; to coordinate administrative project and performs research, statistical and other analytical work in support of a department or assigned programs; and to represent the City and department both inside and outside City government.

This may include one or more assessment components such as a written exam and/or performance exercise, and an oral board interview. Employment Processing:

Those selected may be subject to DOJ Livescan (fingerprint) clearance, drug screen, and a background investigation.  All appointees are required to successfully complete a 12-month probationary period, and in accordance with Federal law, are to provide proof of identity and proof that they may legally work in the United States.

Ideal Candidate

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Management Analyst I: Knowledge of principles and practices of organization and administration; statistical methods; principles and practices of financial record keeping and reporting; principles of good customer service; technical report writing procedures; modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.

Ability to analyze technical information, organizational, and administrative problems; create, recommend and implement effective courses of action; multi-task and prioritize; maintain confidentiality; learn and apply applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations; analyze facts and make sound recommendations; work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

EDUCATION:

Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

OR

Public sector-related experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years of professional technical level administrative or analytical experience in a private or public agency.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License within 30 days of appointment and a satisfactory driving record is a condition of initial and continued employment.

Benefits

Full-Time Permanent Employees in this classification are represented by Dixon Mid-Manager’s and Supervisor’s Association (DMSA).  This MOU is currently under negotiations, salary & some benefits may change.

Retirement: CalPERS Retirement System (2% @ 60 formula for Classic CalPERS members and 2% @ 62 formula for new CalPERS members; Classic members shall contribute 5% towards the employer share of the PERS contributions). MOU Interpretations of PERS Tiers.

The City does not participate in social security. 

Medical: CalPERS Medical Insurance Plans, including HMOs and PPOs.  City gives an allowance toward the cost of insurance.  Maximum Family Medical Benefit Allowance (2025): $2,025 per month.

Bilingual Pay: $125 per month upon certification.
