Essential Responsibilities

•Paints interiors and exteriors of District buildings, including railings and posts
•Performs dry wall finishing, including joint taping, skip troweling, patch work and related prep work
•Strips and prepares wood and metal for finishing
•Finishes wood and metal furniture and stains and matches gloss of existing finishes
•Applies roadway markings and striping
•Sandblasts and spray paints fabricated steel items
•Repairs and maintains spray painting equipment, brushes and rollers
•Drives District vehicles
•Knows & follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job
•Removes graffiti from buildings and the Bridge using ladders
•Handles hazardous wastes
•Responsible for cleaning and housekeeping in assigned work area

POOL OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
Part-time, approximately 30 hours per week
$26 - $33.19/per hour + benefits

The City of Piedmont is a primarily residential 1.7 square mile Charter City. Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Ferry Mechanic performs preventative, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, trouble-shooting, repair, and modifications on structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, piping and control systems found on ferry vessels and passenger terminals; performs related work as assigned. Responsibilities include record keeping and written verification of work accomplished.

Salary Range:  
Day Shift:               $56.32 per hour
Swing Shift:           $56.32 per hour + 10% differential pay
Graveyard Shift:    $56.32 per hour + 15% differential pay
 

Essential Responsibilities

• Working with computers on a daily basis for work scheduling, work order entry and work order reporting on the Districts electronic maintenance system in addition to notifications and communications.
• Conducts tests, analyses and measurements as directed to diagnose any unusual, erratic or malfunctioning occurrence in any shipboard or terminal system or component.
• Reports any unusual wear patterns, noise, pressure, temperature, or changes in voltage, current, cycles, resistance or any other indication of potential malfunction.
• References manufacturer schematics including blueprints, drawings and specifications to resolve maintenance issues.
• References parts catalogues and other sources to determine correct parts for specific applications.
• Performs inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs and overhauls as directed.
• Documents and records work performed and parts and materials used in the electronic maintenance system. 
• Reports all safety hazards and corrects unsafe situations immediately where possible.
• Immediately reports to supervisor any potential maintenance problem or condition which could cause a possible schedule delay.
• Maintains all work areas, special tools and equipment used in performing maintenance function, in a clean and orderly manner.
• Operate a forklift and other equipment/vehicles safely.
• Interacts on a regular basis with vessel operations personnel.
• Adheres to the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to job.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.

The Department

The mission of the Maintenance Operations Department is to enhance the community by providing high quality maintenance services through the maintenance of safe and effective transportation systems and public infrastructure that support a desirable quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors, and to support the City organization with efficient and effective services for City buildings and fleet vehicles.

The Positions
The Building Maintenance Division of the Maintenance Operations Department is seeking experienced Building Maintenance Workers to provide HVAC maintenance support for all public facilities, such as City Hall, Historic Buildings, Fire Stations, Police Department, Recreation facilities, and Rental Housing. Building Maintenance Workers (HVAC) design, fabricate, inspect, install, troubleshoot and evaluate problems with HVAC equipment.  They also repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and related apparatus. Additionally, they install, repair and/or replace controls for energy management system as well as perform preventive maintenance and sheet metal work, including design and fabrication.

The Building Maintenance Division of the Maintenance Operations Department is also seeking experienced Building Maintenance Workers to provide general maintenance support for all public facilities, such as City Hall, Historic Buildings, Fire Stations, Police Department, Recreation facilities, and Rental Housing. Maintenance tasks for the general assignment typically include painting, electrical repairs, wall repair, roof repair, carpentry/metal work, and floor repair.

Position Summary

Under general direction, performs responsible professional level engineering and administrative work in connection with a wide variety of engineering projects. May lead professional and paraprofessional engineering personnel engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects.  Assist Directing Civil Engineer in training and providing guidance to Junior through Associate Engineer classifications and Inspector classifications. The Position

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides oversight and strategic direction for nursing practice across the organization’s continuum of care. This role ensures a unified nursing vision and consistent standards of practice in all clinical areas where patients receive nursing services. The CNO establishes nursing policies, procedures, standards of practice, and care models that meet the needs of the patient populations served by the organization. They assess, plan, and monitor the resources necessary to support safe, high-quality patient care and foster an environment that promotes staff recruitment, retention, and professional growth.

The Chief Nursing Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The incumbent exercises direct and indirect supervision over skilled nursing, acute psychiatry, emergency services, acute medical/surgical services, perioperative services, ambulatory nursing practice, case management, social services, and other managerial, clinical, technical, and clerical staff. The Planning and Building Department is seeking qualified candidates for Code Compliance Officer I/II/III.

Working under limited direction, the Code Compliance Officer ensures compliance with land use codes and ordinances by investigating and enforcing regulations on zoning, building, property maintenance, weed abatement, public nuisances, and abandoned vehicles. Duties include processing complaints, conducting research and site inspections, issuing notices and citations, maintaining records, preparing reports and inspection warrants, and representing the County in administrative hearings. The role involves frequent public interaction, particularly when investigating complaints and recommending corrective actions.

Ideal Candidate:
In addition to the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below, the ideal candidate will have:

• At least two to three years of experience interpreting, analyzing, and applying local zoning codes and ordinances.
• Effective interpersonal skills, with experience explaining policies and procedures to members of the public, dealing with uncooperative or angry customers, and working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience documenting activities using a permit tracking system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and project management skills. 
• Possession of or ability to obtain within the first two years of employment, a Code Enforcement Training Certificate, such as from CACEO, the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers, or a similar professional group, such as ICC, International Code Council, or AACE, American Association of Code Enforcement.

• Investigate alleged code violations in response to public complaints.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.  

• Certification in personal training or group fitness instruction required (e.g., ACE, NASM, or other recognized certification).  

• At least one year of experience in fitness instruction, personal training, or a related field preferred.  

• Experience in group instruction and one-on-one training is highly desirable. 

Knowledge and Skills

This position requires a knowledge of general fitness principles, exercise techniques, and wellness practices, instructing and motivating individuals or groups in a fitness setting, excellent communication to provide clear instruction and positive feedback and assessing client needs and creating individualized fitness programs. The position also requires ability to operate and maintain fitness equipment safely. 

Special Requirements: 

• Current certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). 

• Fitness certifications (e.g., Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor) from a nationally recognized organization.

The Superior Court of California, San Mateo County is seeking highly qualified individuals for the position of Court Commissioner. 

The appointment to this position shall be by the judges of the superior court and shall be under the general direction of the presiding judge.

Pursuant to California Rules of Court, candidates must have been admitted to practice law in California for at least 10 years or, on a finding of good cause by the presiding judge, for at least 5 years.

The commissioner’s duties include the subordinate judicial duties set forth in Code of Civil Procedures 259, which include but are not limited to conducting judicial hearings in a broad range of civil proceedings which may include family law, making findings of facts in traffic, small claims, and criminal proceedings, and performing other subordinate judicial activities as may be conferred by law or by order of the court.

There are currently two vacancies for Court Commissioners.  One position is a regular position and the second is a limited term position.  Limited term positions are full-time, temporary assignments not to exceed three years.
