The Coordinator is responsible for providing the highest quality of guest service to all visitors. The Coordinator will be responsible for administrative duties and assist at various City facilities, as assigned. In addition, the Coordinator will monitor facility rentals and support the special events. This is potentially a year around part time position.

General supervision is provided by Recreation Supervisor or Assistant Recreation Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
• Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent and have one year college or volunteer / paid experience that would qualify the applicant to perform all duties
• Must have reliable transportation to and from job assignments
• Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to multi-task
• Must be able to establish and maintain productive relations with others
• Must be willing and able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
• Depending upon assignment, may need to possess Class C Driver's License

The Human Resources Administrator (Classification & Compensation) reports to the Director, Human Resources and is responsible for administering the District’s classification and compensation categorization system including performing highly confidential and professional level analytical work and advanced data analysis. This position makes recommendations based on studies and market data for professional-level administrative positions within the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), Peninsula Joint Powers Board (Caltrain), and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) agencies. 

Essential Functions & Duties:

• Plan, develop, and administer the District’s classification and compensation program. 

• Gather, consolidate, and analyze complex qualitative, quantitative, confidential and sensitive data, datasets, and information from multiple sources. 

• Serve as the subject matter expert in classification and compensation, market salary data, and salary studies, providing information and recommendations to management. 

• Provides leadership in change management related to classification and compensation including communication with District staff on updated Human Resources policies and procedures. 

• Assists with People & Culture Group programs including benefits, recruitment, civil rights, and employee relations by providing data and information relating to compensation and classification. 

• Responsible for developing, updating, and communicating policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to the area of administration. 

Examples of Duties:

• Provide classification and compensation support to the HR Director and Caltrain HR Business Partner.

• Conduct review of classification descriptions and determine an appropriate level of compensation based on market data comparators and internal alignment.

• Independently and proactively identify trends and insights for recommendations. 

• Monitor state and federal policy updates, new technology, or updated methodology related to classification and compensation and communicate changes to relevant departments and staff. 

• Prepares presentations, reports, and data visualizations to support findings and present information in a clear and concise manner. 

• Analyze and interpret large datasets and information. 

• Leads meetings to present salary and budget recommendations, policy updates, and individual results with staff, management, and consultants. 

• Performs periodic audits of the classification and compensation evaluation system, ensuring data quality and control, consistent and fair application, and 

• Maintains reports, manuals, datasets and files. 

• Manages the work of outside consultants, scheduling meetings with necessary administrative staff, and supporting the information gathering and decision-making process. 

• Assess and review compensation and classification policies and procedures for improvements.

• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.

Minimum Qualifications:

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:

• Associate Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Human Resources, Labor Relations, or directly related field. 

• Five (5) years full-time, progressively responsible experience in classification, data and/or information analysis in a professional business setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to use initiative and independent judgment, work with interruptions and changing priorities, organize work and follow-up assignments with minimal supervision.  

• Public sector experience preferred. 

• Experience providing analytical support to a human resources function preferred. 

The Position

The City of Fremont is seeking applicants to fill full-time, temporary positions within the Fremont Urban Forestry Service Corps. These positions are paid and have a five-month duration, starting February 3, 2025, and ending June 27, 2025. These positions work five days a week in small cohorts completing a combination of in-class learning and in-the-field service projects.

Examples of Duties

• Learn and study a variety of topics related to urban forestry, public greenspace, and sustainability.
• Work within cohorts to complete urban forestry service projects in local Fremont neighborhoods.

The Position

The City of Fremont is seeking a full-time Urban Forestry Service Corps Supervisor. This position is temporary, starting January 6, 2025, and ending December 19, 2025. This position works five days a week supervising and instructing small cohorts of Urban Forestry Service Corps members through a combination of in-class learning and in-the-field service projects. This position reports to the city Urban Forestry Manager.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Advanced Practice Provider in the Health, Housing & Community Services Department! In this role, you will make assessments, provide treatment based on a patient's physical and psychosocial condition, provide patient counseling and guidance in the maintenance of health and the prevention of illness; and perform other related work as required.

In the Public Health Division, the Advanced Practice Provider provides health care at the Berkeley High School Health Center (BHSHC) and the City of Berkeley's Public Health Clinic. This position has overall responsibility for the delivery of clinical care and supports other clinical staff.

This is an hourly, part-time position working up to 19 hours per week. It is not a benefited position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is:

• Equivalent to graduation from a Physician Assistant program from an accredited institution approved by the Physician Assistant Board of California (PAB) and one year of clinical experience in a health-related occupation; OR
• Equivalent to completion of a graduate-level Nurse Practitioner program from an accredited institution approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN). Completion of an approved preceptorship and appropriate academic training in an area of specialization covering extended roles in traditional nursing and must meet all other requirements as an advanced practice registered nurse as specified in standards by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

One position will be filled as either an Associate Landscape Architect or a lower level Landscape Architect/Designer II, depending upon qualifications and fit. The Manager, Track & Structures reports to the Deputy Director of Infrastructure Engineering and is responsible for overseeing railroad track and structures engineering support for the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain)

Essential Functions & Duties:

• Acts as agency lead on matters related to track and structures.
• Oversee the track and structures engineering tasks for design/construction of Caltrain Capital and SOGR projects and provide technical support for planning on grade separation projects.
• Ensure the capital and maintenance projects comply with the contract agreement and implement the approved design for compliance with JPB standards and specifications. 
• Lead the advanced technical reviews of projects to assess constructability, examine design details, perform quantity audit, and recommend construction sequencing.
• Establish effective relationships and liaise with Caltrain operation contractors, consultants, internal departments, and other agencies (CPUC, FRA, UPRR, etc.) on railroad track and structures related to influence design and project development.
• Supervise staff.  Hire, mentor and take appropriate corrective and/or disciplinary action.  Ensure EEO policies and procedures are followed. Participate in selection of staff. Coordinate staff training and professional development. Establish performance objectives. Monitor and evaluate employee performance.

• Plan, develop and implement the group’s work plan, budget, goals, and objectives to be consistent with the Engineering Department’s goals.
• Manage the design review of project documentation such as drawings, basis of design, specifications, technical reports, and calculations for compliance with Caltrain Standards and for cost effectiveness of the design. 
• Lead development of potential solutions to the design/construction team and presents for design optimization, risk management challenges, and constructability improvements.
• Assist with Maintenance Department to develop the annual and long-term railroad track engineering and maintenance plans, coordinate these plans with capital projects and support to implement the plans.
• Review and provide technical input for capital and maintenance projects for compliance and cost effectiveness of the design.
• Perform QA reviews of RFIs and submittals as well as participate in change order review and final inspections to construction. 
• Ensure track and structures comply with all return-to-service requirements following all construction activities.
• Review and evaluate project specific designs and provide technical recommendations to design variance approval process.
• Responsible for Caltrain Bridge Management Program.
• Responsible for updates to Caltrain Engineering Standards.
• Train, motivate and monitor staff activities, provide direction, and to identify and resolve the problems.
