Description

The Department

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem-solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources.

The Position

The Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical and administrative leadership to the Aging and Family Services Division. The mission of the Aging and Family Services Division is to foster a high quality of life for older adults through its Senior Support Services. The Senior Support Services employs a team of caring professionals from diverse backgrounds which include social workers, a public health nurse, counselors, and peers who will work closely with other department staff to provide cohesive wrap-around services for older adults and their families.

Examples of Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain systems necessary to support effective and efficient Senior Support Programs. This includes the responsibilities of: supervising a multi-disciplinary team; monitoring contractual and billing procedures; electronic charting requirements; working with other providers and referral organizations; utilization review and methods for integrating the work of the Aging and Family Services Division and Human Services Department.
  • Facilitate and support the work of a multi-disciplinary team in providing services to seniors with complex care needs and their caregivers.
  • Oversee contract development, billing processes and service deliverables necessary to support the programs. Complete reports required by funding agencies and build strong working relationships with funding parties.

Ideal Candidate

Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work or a closely related field and five years of counseling or social work experience, two years of which have included the supervision of licensed/professional staff.

Licenses/Certificates/Special Requirements

  • Possession of a valid clinical license as an LMFT/LPCC, LCSW or Clinical Psychologist is required.
  • This position requires the ability to travel independently within and outside City limits. Therefore, a valid Class C California Driver’s License is required by time of appointment.

Ideal Candidate

The Human Services Department is looking for candidates will initiative, exceptional people skills, and a creative approach to problem solving. Experience implementing successful service integration strategies and working in multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environments are desirable. Additionally, successful candidates will have experience working with older adults and older adult programs.
