The Recreation Specialist is a unique position that is primarily responsible for specific projects or long term projects requiring relevant knowledge and expertise.

The Department:

The Finance Department administers the financial affairs of the City of Santa Clara, including City-owned public utilities. The Position:

Accounting Technician I

This is the entry-level class within the Accounting Technician series in the classified service. Performs basic accounting work including the maintenance of financial records, systems or transactions. Interfaces with other City departments, auditors, business entities, governmental jurisdiction and general public, giving and receiving information regarding area of financial responsibility. Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Accounting Technician II

This is the second level classification in the Accounting Technician series. Performs advanced paraprofessional accounting work including the maintenance of financial records, systems or transactions. Interfaces with other City departments, auditors, business entities, governmental jurisdiction and general public, giving and receiving information regarding area of financial responsibility. May perform more complex processing and reconciliation work and related duties as assigned.

The annual salary range for Accounting Technician I is $78,600.72 - $100,518.12. The annual salary range for Accounting Technician II is $82,479.24 - $105,722.40.  This position will be filled at or near the bottom of the salary range.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Wildfire Resilience Coordinator will manage projects related to the overall MRCA efforts regarding wildfire resilience, including tracking and analyzing existing funding sources related to wildfire preparedness and response, supporting staff project as defined by the early action wildfire resilience plan, coordinating with other MRCA and SMMC staff members working on wildfire related projects and programs, preparing and documenting further regional needs.

 

This position requires a highly motivated, responsible, organized and self-starting individual who can handle an array of tasks at the same time as part of standard workload, has good judgment and can make decisions, and works well independently and as part of a small team.

 

This is professional and technical work pursuant to the terms of grants, contracts, and applicable regulations, involving frequent communication with others. Project managers must also build community and political support, seek funding opportunities, actively cooperate with other government agencies and non­profit organizations, and keep abreast of related planning processes. The work performed will support MRCA’s capital Workprogram for wildfire resilience including improvements, workforce development, ignition prevention and suppression, inspection and monitoring and structure hardening and other MRCA efforts related to public access, open space conservation, habitat restoration, and urban park development. Special projects assigned or led by the Chief of Staff will be supported by this position.

This position reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff. Assorted tasks may be supervised by Executive Staff.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Implement multiple projects simultaneously: The project manager is the central point of contact on all issues concerning assigned projects and will be responsible for project quality. Perform project tracking, scheduling, and budget management.
• Coordinate between MRCA divisions to track agency-wide wildfire resilience efforts and guide the agency towards accomplishment of big picture wildfire resilience priorities.
• Perform day-to-day administration of grants, prepare required reports and ensure conformance with grant agreements. Analyze, verify and obtain payment approvals for invoices.
• Interagency coordination: Coordinate with Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy grantees to perform tracking and data management on wildfire resilience grants.
• Coordinate with Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, its grantees, and regional stakeholders to advance wildfire resilience efforts in Southern California.
• Determine project scope, options, and alternatives to overcome constraints. Revise as often as needed to address unexpected conditions.
• Demonstrate proactivity to initiate and drive projects, leveraging past experiences, consulting with colleagues, and referencing relevant documentation to successfully launch and manage projects without established precedents.
• Oversee consultants and contractors, manage contracts, coordinate project team and collaborate with coworkers to ensure that the project scope is completed according to grant agreements, schedules, and cost limits. Assist in selection of consultants/contractors.
• Write and coordinate grant proposals and research new funding opportunities for wildfire resilience and workforce development related planning efforts.
• Cooperate with other team members to accomplish project goals; provide support to coworkers on other projects.
• Produce written materials including staff reports, text for publication, proposals, progress reports, and a variety of other documents.
• Write comprehensive reports based on samples, summarizing and analyzing information to provide clear conclusions in the sample's format and style
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers, representatives of other government agencies, non-profit organizations, homeowner's associations, and the public at large.
• Other projects as directed by Chief of Staff.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position, occasionally move about inside the office to access supplies and office machinery, frequently communicate and exchange information, review handwritten, electronic and facsimile documents, observe site conditions, and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. Occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions and move between multiple work sites. The employee must occasionally move items weighing up to 20 pounds inside the office.

 

Required Hours And Location

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week with some scheduling flexibility. Occasional overtime work in evenings or weekends upon prior approval by supervisor. The position will work remotely and out of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens but may be required to travel to various other locations. Offices at the River Center are spread among multiple buildings and floors.

 

Public Contact

As public parklands, the majority of MRCA properties are open to the general public during operating hours. This position will have contact with members of the public in public areas such as parking lots and shared public/office restrooms, and during public meetings.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Facility and Sports Field Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: Facility and Sports Field Attendants work behind the scenes making all Recreation and Community Services excel!  This job entails setting up for events and rentals, cleaning the facility and performing light maintenance duties.  We’re looking for highly motivated people with a customer service orientation who genuinely enjoy helping others and who are flexible problem-solvers.

A Dance Instructor (Program Specialist) will plan, prepare and instruct recreation activities. Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age.

Dance programs may include ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom, folkloric, salsa, and rhythmic international styles.

The outpatient clinician will provide specialty outpatient mental health services to adults living in the Northern regions of San Mateo County. The target population are adults 18 years of age and older presenting with a serious mental illness and severe functional impairments. Principal duties will include assessment and diagnosis, care coordination, case management, group and individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention and rehabilitation services. The Clinician will provide treatment in an outpatient clinic setting.

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Senior Information Systems Manager, this position provides system support during implementation and ongoing support after implementation including report writing, configuration, routine inquiries and user support for the District’s various enterprise technology systems including UKG Pro Workforce Management Time & Attendance and Central Square Technologies Finance Enterprise.   The Business Information Systems Engineer works with end-users, vendors, and members of the Information Systems Department to identify, analyze, and resolve systems issues and provide maximum capability and satisfaction to users.

Essential Responsibilities

• Serves as a technical lead of the enterprise application
• Focused on delivering excellent customer service
• Adhere to incident, problem, change management, and other Information Systems best practices
• Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the ongoing automation and usage of the district-wide application systems
• Develop and maintain user and technical knowledge of application systems
• Serve as the liaison between application system users, vendor provided help desk as well as the Information Systems Department
• Plan, co-ordinate and test system upgrades
• Fulfill users various data mining requests
• Support the various large interface integrations between the application systems and fixing data problems that occur in these interfaces
• Develop and provide user training for all modules of the systems
• Writes user documentation, provides user information, procedures, and training materials in a variety of formats as needed
• Develops a knowledge base of problem symptoms and solutions to improve the timeliness of problem resolution
• Identify unused system functionality and present opportunities for improvement of business processes using this functionality
• Continue to monitor and stay current on new features contained in new releases of the software
• Recommend and implement software upgrade paths
• Develop relationships with other agency users of the applications
• Maintains strong technical competence in Microsoft Office products such as Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint
• Other duties as assigned at the direction of the Information Systems Manager
• Know and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to the job
• Regular and reliable attendance and performance are required

 

The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District is looking for a visionary and strategic Director of Budget and Financial Analysis who will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading the preparation of the agency’s budget and participating in complex, sensitive, and detailed analytical work in the areas of budgetary, financial, grants, investments, regulatory, and administrative policy and/or contract administration. This role will be responsible for oversight of a wide variety of financial/statistical reports and complex financial analysis including financial forecasting, revenue projection, revenue analysis, modeling and cost/benefit analysis as well as interpret regulations for policy and financial impact on District programs.

Essential Duties

 

What you will do:  

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
 
Feeds, cares for, evaluates behavior, adopts, redeems, and performs euthanasia on impounded animals.
 
Receives animals at the Shelter, isolating those showing signs of disease from healthy ones.
 
Vaccinates animals as they are received and administers medicine under instructions from a veterinarian; prepares identification collars and places on animals for accurate records.
 
Responds to questions from the public about animal breeds, temperament and adoptions;  advises public on appropriate choices for adoption and the proper care, treatment and control of animals.
 
Cleans, disinfects and maintains kennels and kennel area; performs dishwashing and laundering tasks.
 
Maintains a computerized log and record of all animals at shelter.
 
Reports any animals exhibiting symptoms of ill health or communicable disease.
 
Maintains inventories and supplies of food, medicines and controlled drugs, completing the necessary forms.

Assists in supervising volunteers.
 
Lifts and loads animals weighing up to seventy-five pounds.
 
Performs related tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications

 

You have:  

Any combination equivalent to experience and training that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:  

Experience:   Six (6) months experience involving customer contact and six months experience in handling animals.
 
Education:  Equivalent to completion of twelfth (12th) Grade or High School equivalency.

License:    Possession and maintenance of a valid Class C California Driver's License.
