Responsibilities

• Perform initial diagnostic evaluation noting behavioral symptoms which may indicate organic and/or mental disorders in children and in interpersonal/ family dysfunctions related to child and adult patients/clients.
• Determine and develop appropriate treatment plans for all clients in the caseload.

San Mateo County Health's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division is seeking a responsible, innovative leader and skilled clinician for the position of Supervising Mental Health Clinician - East Palo Alto Services. This Supervising Mental Health Clinician will supervise and coordinate the work of mental health professionals and interns in the East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park geographic area in San Mateo County. This position works closely with community members and community providers to develop and sustain programming that is culturally and community responsive.

This position will participate in program administration, planning and evaluation. The Supervising Mental Health Clinician supervises and guides the clinical team who provides services to seriously emotionally disturbed youth and their families, and seriously mentally ill adults. Services provided include: medication assessment and management; individual, group and family therapy; psychological assessment; case management; rehabilitation services; and crisis intervention.

The current vacancy is in the East Palo Alto Community Counseling Center, located in East Palo Alto but will travel throughout San Mateo County for client visits, trainings and meetings.

The East Palo Alto Community Counseling Center offers a unique setting to provide services to a diverse population in a community-oriented clinic.

This position supervises a multidisciplinary team that provides clinical outpatient services to adults and children and their families. The team may include psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses and social workers and marriage and family therapists. The clinical teams also include master and doctoral level interns and psychiatric residents. In providing clinical services team members also relate to peer counselors and parent partners.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Knowledge of system of care principles and general services.
• Knowledge of program management techniques and practices.
• Demonstrated expertise and skill in clinical work with adults with serious mental illnesses and youth with serious emotional disturbances; and clients with co-occurring disorders.
• Experience working with clients of diverse cultures and backgrounds and with underserved and/or isolated communities.
• Knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice modalities, e.g. Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Brief Treatment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Education: A Master's degree in a mental health specialty, such as social work, nursing, or clinical counseling.

Experience: Two years of professional post-graduate experience in a mental health setting.

Licensure/Certification:

• Possession of a California license in at least one of the following: Registered Nurse; Clinical Psychology; Clinical Social Worker; or Marriage and Family Therapist.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, operates a variety of transit vehicles to transport passengers along specific, assigned routes according to the District's requirements. Provide service in a safe, courteous and reliable manner. Responsible for written reports and other information as required. Upon completion of the Golden Gate Transit Training Program, the employee operates regularly scheduled assignments. All runs will originate in either Santa Rosa, Novato or San Rafael.

Hourly Pay: $31.29/hour to $36.81/hour

 If selected for the position, new hires will need to complete Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District’s Bus Operator Apprenticeship Program ($31.29/hr benefits not included) which is approximately twelve (12) weeks, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Upon successful completion of training, pay increase granted to $33.13 per hour, plus benefits. All new hires will be required to complete a 120 probationary period upon completion of training.

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. In addition to the expansion, the COO will work to ensure new renewable resources are added to meet the City's and State’s climate goals. The COO is responsible for forecasting service requirements and for planning, organizing and directing assigned resources of the electric utility division in order to meet those requirements. This includes developing and administering the department operations and capital improvement budgets. San Mateo County Health is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Public Health Clinics Process Improvement Manager that plans, oversees, and provides a wide variety of administrative, analytical, and work-flow support on a County-wide level; analyzes practices and procedures and makes recommendations for organizational, operational, policy, and procedural improvements; conducts needs analysis, feasibility studies, and program evaluation for assigned projects and programs; develops, summarizes, and maintains administrative and fiscal records; fosters cooperative working relationships among County departments and acts as liaison with various community, public, and regulatory agencies; and performs related work as required.

There is currently one regular vacancy in the Public Health, Policy and Planning Division, located in San Mateo, but the position will include travel/driving throughout the county to perform duties of the job.

This management position will report to the Public Health Clinics Manager, overseeing Edison Clinics and Mobile Clinics and will have broad project management responsibility for key strategic efforts affecting the Public Health clinics, and will exercise direct and general supervision over assigned professional, technical, and office support staff.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Quality assurance and improvement: build and visualize data in management reports and dashboards; convert data to information and use it to guide process improvement.
• Process improvement: facilitate, document, track, organize, and measure progress, e.g., conduct improvement work within daily huddles.
• Project management: lead projects and provide ad hoc support of projects.
• Knowledge management: inventory and maintain infrastructure of core programmatic documents and processes, how files are stored and shared.

The Department:

The Parks and Recreation Department provides planning, development, operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of the City's neighborhood parks, open space, water sites, recreation buildings, and trails.

The Position:

Under supervision, to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in connection with the development and maintenance of City parks and recreational facilities.

As an As-needed Laborer, the successful incumbent will work in the department, performing routine maintenance on various parks and facilities including the city-owned cemetery. This position will assist in maintenance and repair using a variety of tools and specialized equipment. 

The Laborer position performs varied, unskilled and skilled manual tasks related to landscape maintenance and sanitization. Typical tasks include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and buildings, loading trash and leaves in truck, litter abatement, mowing, edging, cleaning park sites, graffiti abatement, and operating a variety of hand/power tools and heavy equipment as needed. This position may require working weekends, holidays, and after hours. Must be able to read, speak, and write English at a basic level, follow written and oral instruction, and perform heavy lifting.  

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Under direct supervision, performs varied, unskilled manual tasks often requiring considerable physical strength and the use of hand tools and hand power tools; loads rubbish and leaves on trucks; excavates and fills trenches and ditches; assists in the removal, trimming and spraying of trees and shrubs; prepares surfaces for paving; mixes cement; breaks up paved surfaces; helps place forms and pour concrete; lays pipes; uses such tools as shovel, rake, and jackhammer; operates trucks and heavier equipment as needed. Performs construction, maintenance and sanitation duties as required; and does related work as required.

The Public Authority for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is seeking well-qualified individuals for the position of Public Authority Registry Social Worker II/III with fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese. There is one vacancy in the Public Authority. The current vacancy would be responsible for supporting IHSS consumers who do not have caregiver resources, in hiring a homecare provider from the Public Authority Registry and helping the client and provider establish a successful working relationship. The position is located in San Mateo, CA, but will require travel throughout the County to perform duties of the positions.

NOTE: The Public Authority Registry Social Worker II/III is not a County position; the Public Authority unit reports to the San Mateo County Director of Aging and Adult Services.

PUBLIC AUTHORITY

The Public Authority serves as the employer of record for IHSS homecare workers, with the IHSS consumer retaining the right to hire, fire and train their worker. The Public Authority's responsibilities include operating a Registry that recruits, screens and refers potential homecare providers to IHSS consumers needing personal assistance in their home; screening the backgrounds of IHSS providers in accordance with IHSS policies and regulations; providing training opportunities to IHSS providers to enhance their skills in serving IHSS consumers; and offering support and assistance to Registry consumers and providers to ensure the employer-employee relationship between the Registry consumer and provider are functioning well. The IHSS consumer is the IHSS employer and is responsible for hiring and supervising a provider for the care they receive. Consumers who do not have caregiver resources, may choose to hire a caregiver from the Public Authority Registry. The Public Authority Social Worker will assist those recipients with the hiring of a Public Authority Registry worker and help them to manage their role as the employer.

Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Conduct home visits to support consumers' hiring needs.
• Educate, support, and perform administrative duties for IHSS consumers and care providers to understand/comply with program regulations.
• Provide conflict mediation between consumers and providers to help stabilize cases.
• Collaborate with program integrity team to ensure proper adherence to regulations.
• Provide education, outreach, and community resources information for consumers.
• Attend case conferences.
• Collaborate and facilitate services with other partner agencies.
• Effective caseload management

• Ability to work in both an independent and collaborative setting, in the development and implementation of sound case plans of action.
• Ability to implement program regulations.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification: California class C driver license or equivalent.

Experience:

Social Worker II: Two years experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker I or higher in San Mateo County. Substitution: Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work.

Social Worker III: Three years experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker II or higher in San Mateo County.
