The North Tahoe Fire Protection District is currently accepting applications for current and future job openings from qualified individuals to serve in the role of Defensible Space Inspector. The Finance Manager is an at-will, single independent classification within the District.

The Finance Manager position is responsible for directing, managing, coordinating, and participating in the District’s financial activities and operations, including accounting, financial planning and reporting, debt issuance, budgeting, treasury and investment portfolio, payroll/benefit administration, financial system management/administration, and implementation and monitoring of internal controls. These positions are grant-funded, seasonal positions assigned to a 40-hour work week. These positions are returning to the fire district in 2025, and we’ll be hiring three people to operate the chipping crew.  This position is expected to be active from approximately May through November.  The actual start and end dates will be dependent on weather and snow conditions and may be extended beyond 6 months, but no more than 9 months from the employment start date.  The eligibility list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies.  

The Chipping Crew Members work under the direct supervision of the Division Chief of Fire and Life Safety or their designee.  

The primary purpose of this crew is to operate a residential chipping program for the local community. This includes responding to chipping requests, traveling to those addresses with a truck and chipper, chipping the material, ensuring a clean site upon leaving, potentially hauling and dumping the material at a temporary holding site, assisting with loading, and ensuring activities are adequately tracked. The applicant must be comfortable working in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions and lifting objects frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.  Chipping crew members will also assist with community workdays utilizing the truck and chipper or assisting with cutting and hauling combustible materials and filling green waste dumpsters.

Under the direct supervision, performs a variety of difficult and complex professional officer and field engineering work; prepares plans, designs, and specifications for a variety of the Department of Public Works projects; reviews work prepared by outside consultants; prepares engineering reports; and performs related duties as assigned.

The City of Marysville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a Public Works Director; this recruitment will fill 1 vacancy and create an eligible list.  

Reporting directly to the City Manager, this position is responsible for executive direction, strategic leadership, and management of the Public Works Department, including City maintenance workers and capital improvement projects. 

As the principal administrator of the Public Works Department, the Director; plans, organizes, directs, reviews and manages all department activities and functions including Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Streets, Public Facilities, Wastewater Treatment/Sewage, and Storm Water Management.

The Director also coordinates departmental activities with other City departments, outside agencies, community groups and individuals; and provides highly complex professional advice and support to the City Manager and City Council; assures department compliance with and enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and codes; manages and supervises staff; serves as a member of the City’s Executive Team.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Certification

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar major.

Information Technology Technician

The Town of Los Gatos is recruiting for an IT Technician to work in a dynamic, customer service-oriented and fast-paced environment where problem solving, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and strong communication skills are a must. The IT Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and upgrades computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, peripheral equipment, and Town-wide electronic mail systems; assesses user training needs and trains users in effective use of applications; makes recommendations regarding hardware and software acquisitions; prepares documentation and provides user assistance to Town staff; and performs related work as required. This position will report to the IT Director. Schedule & Other Information: The IT Technician position is a temporary (up to 20 hours per week), at-will, non-benefited position limited to 999 hours of employment in a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). This position is not eligible for a remote or hybrid work schedule.

• Troubleshoots problems related to all local and wide area network systems, servers, firewall, computer workstations, operating and systems software; and data communications equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field such as computer science, information technology systems or a related field, and one year of experience in information systems and support.

Substitution: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in information systems and support may substitute the required education and completion of high school or equivalent.  Experience substitutions are determined at the discretion of the Town of Los Gatos.

Marina Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center, and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: Marina Attendants provide assistance and information to marina customers, in person and by telephone; perform marina related inspections and boat checks including seaworthiness boat checks and improvement verifications; perform boat measurement and appearance inspections; monitor dock conditions, check seawall and other dock infrastructure, and clear debris from Suisun City waters; perform impound and auction related activities; interpret, apply and explain policies, regulations, codes and procedures relating to slips, moorings and dock structures; assign space for visiting vessels, calculate and collect fees; maintain inventory and operate marina equipment.
