The Position

The City of Fremont, Human Services Department - Billing Unit is looking looking for candidates who are eager and interested to learn and grow their finance and billing skills and be part of a dynamic customer service oriented team. Under direct supervision of the Management Analyst II, the Human Services Billing Unit Accounting Specialist I will work as part of a billing team and also across the various department divisions. This position is responsible for assisting in the billing process of our Medi-Cal programs through the use of our new electronic health record system and other county, state and

General Description

As a Mental Health Counselor in the Human Services Department, incumbents will provide a full range of culturally responsive intake assessments, individual, family and group counseling, and crisis intervention services to enhance the mental health of those in need.

The Counselor is part of a larger Human Services team that includes psychologists, nurses, social work case managers, a family partner (peer support specialist), substance use disorder intervention specialists, and interns. Counselors receive continuous clinical training, consultation and professional development opportunities and receive supervision from a Clinical Supervisor.

The current vacancies are for 2 full-time benefitted positions in the Aging and Family Services (AFS) Division, working primarily with Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) older adults.

Examples of Duties

• Conduct intake assessment which includes, psycho-social functioning, family and peer relationships, cultural/language needs and family strengths; develop care plans that respond to the individual’s or families’ values and strengths.
• Establish clinical diagnoses and identify list of problems and needs.
• Provide individual, family and group counseling to enhance clients’ mental and emotional health, social functioning and independent living skills, using a variety of therapeutic and counseling techniques.
• Provide therapy and supportive services to individuals /children and families from varying cultural backgrounds.

A Dispatcher I is a civilian employee of the Police Department who performs a variety of tasks in the Department’s Support Services Division. The Dispatcher I receives incoming calls for police assistance and response; acts as a primary Dispatcher when appropriate; performs a variety of general support duties related to police communications; completes a wide variety of general clerical duties.

The Dispatcher I duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Answer emergency and non-emergency police related phone calls, help prioritize requests for service based upon available resources, receive radio requests and handle accordingly, type, process and file a wide variety of reports and materials including memos, letters, complaints, declarations, warrants, citations, crime and traffic reports.  Assists Department personnel and the public in person and by phone performing record checks, collecting fees and mailing requested reports to outside agencies in accordance with established regulations.  A Dispatcher I may be assigned to work various hours, shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime.

QUALIFICATIONS

A combination of education and work experience including 2-3 years of general office work involving typing of varied materials, public contact, general filing and basic record keeping; type at least 40 wpm net.  Knowledge of business English, spelling; modern office practices and procedures; record keeping. Ability to learn assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed routine; write English legibly; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; type and learn the operation of other standard office equipment; a willingness to work varying shifts; and to learn radio dispatching skills.

• Salary:  $6,252 - $8.059 per month

Under immediate supervision, the Engineer I (Civil) performs a variety of professional and technical engineering tasks related to preparation of plans, designs, and specifications for a wide variety of public works infrastructure projects such as streets, sidewalks, cost estimates and report for public works projects, the Clean Water Program and other related work as required.

CLASS CHARACTERISITICS:

Engineer I (Civil) is the entry-level class in the Civil Engineer series. Incumbents possess the applicable education and training required to perform civil engineering duties. The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Building Maintenance Mechanic! In this role, you will perform plumbing, carpentry, HVAC repair, remodeling, painting and a variety of other craft or building trades. Work includes installation, maintenance and repair at City buildings, parks, marina facilities and related structures and equipment. We're looking for candidates who can operate a variety of hand, power and shop tools.

The San Leandro Community Development Department is a dynamic and high-functioning team responsible for development services, economic development, and housing programs. The Department is comprised of five divisions that work together to advance the community’s vision and City Council’s adopted plans and policies: Building and Safety, Community Preservation, Economic Development, Housing Services, and Planning Services.

DEFINITION:  Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine to complex technical and public contact duties related to the City’s Community Preservation Program, including the identification, investigation, and correction of violations of various state and local codes and ordinances, including but not limited to the City’s municipal, zoning, property maintenance, and building standards codes, and community preservation and weed abatement ordinances; investigates citizen complaints of public nuisances and quality of life issues; seeks voluntary compliance or issues citations; and performs related duties as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:  This is the fully qualified journey level classification in the Community Preservation Officer series.
