Receives direction from the Transportation Services Manager. This position does not exercise supervision over others.

The Senior Planner is an important member of the Community Development Department team, which includes Planning, Community Preservation (Code Enforcement) and Economic Development divisions. This position reports to the Deputy Community Development Director and is expected to exercise independent judgement with a moderate amount of oversight.

The City will fill the position at the Assistant, Associate, or Senior Planner level depending on candidate qualifications.

The City of Thousand Oaks is in search of an Assistant/Associate Transit Planner for the City’s award-winning public transit program. The Assistant/Associate Transit Planner will be responsible for a range of duties in support of transit operations, including planning, implementing, overseeing, and coordinating key transit programs and initiatives, coordination with contracting agencies, other City divisions, vendors, and the general public. Experience in public transit agency, preferably in a contract operation environment, is desirable.
The City is seeking an innovative and proactive Deputy Community Development Director with positive, forward-thinking perspectives. The Deputy Community Development Director – Planning and Development Services will direct and manage the planning function (development and environmental planning) from concept to final inspection, and will oversee permit processing, development planning, code compliance and building functions. This Deputy will also serve as Department liaison to the Planning Commission.
