This City of Hayward is excited to announce its recruitment for the part-time position of Library Assistant. Under direction from the Lead Library Assistant, the Library Assistant provides customer service and assists library users in the use of library facilities, technology and equipment. This position also performs data entry and maintenance of simple library records, while making routine contact with the public.
The current opening is at the Alhambra Public Library in the Circulation Division and will assist the public and perform related clerical tasks. The current vacancy offers 20 hours per week. The library is open and staffed Monday through Sunday. Work Schedules are variable and may require daytime, evening and weekend hours.
Under direct supervision, to be trained to perform general and specialized law enforcement work, and to perform related work as assigned.
Attends a Basic P.O.S.T. Certified Police Officer Training Academy designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the Criminal Justice System and specialized training in various laws, police procedures and techniques, first aid, and physical conditioning, participates in initial department field training and perform other duties as required.
