This position will be a key contributor in the management, strategic planning, and administrative oversight of programs which support the development and coordination of homeless and social services in the community. The incumbent will independently perform the most difficult and responsible analytical, financial, systems, statistical, management, and other administrative analyses duties in providing highly responsible staff support in assigned program areas.

The City of Berkeley is currently accepting applications for Accountant II in the Accounting division of our Finance Department. The Accounting division maintains the City's general ledger, and prepares the City's internal and external financial statements and reports. Accounting is responsible for all bank reconciliations, development of the indirect cost allocation plans, and quality control review on accounting transactions entered by all departments. Accounting also prepares all required State Controller, payroll, and sales tax returns.
Reports To: Various Library Managers or Supervisors
Supervises: Non-supervisory; may mentor, coordinate and assign work to professional, paraprofessional, clerical, temporary and/or volunteer staff
