The Public Works Department consists of Design Engineering, Development Engineering, Construction, Civic Facilities, Transportation, Survey, and Real Property sections. The department reviews all proposed land development projects in the City and executes the design and construction of public projects such as streets, parks, and public buildings.

TOWN MANAGER - TOWN OF LOOMIS

The Town Council of the Town of Loomis, California (population 6,800) is seeking an energetic and engaging individual with a commitment to public service to become its new Town Manager. The Town Manager directs, coordinates, and manages the overall administrative   activities and operations of the Town and advises and assists the Town Council while exercising significant independent judgment and initiative. In this smaller-sized entity, the Town Manager will need to be comfortable with a hands-on and collaborative approach to day-to-day  management. This will include providing strong leadership and frequent interaction with the small team (Finance, Community Development, Engineering and Public Works), fostering a    collaborative, open dialogue, and teamwork. The Town Council also seeks a Town Manager who enjoys working in the public sector and appreciates the variety and diversity of contributions from all sources within the organization, as well as from this active and engaged community.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and progressively responsible experience in an administrative, managerial, or senior level staff capacity in a comparable organization with  similar issues. California municipal experience, particularly in a rural setting, is highly regarded by the Town Council, although all highly qualified candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. An advanced degree may be a plus based on overall career experience.

The Town Council is prepared to offer a competitive salary for the region as well as benefits, including CalPERS Retirement. A mutually agreeable employment agreement will be negotiated.

Per Diem Management Analyst I - City Manager's Office

The City Manager’s Office is seeking a Management Analyst I for a per diem opportunity beginning as soon as possible. The position offers a flexible schedule. The expectation is this position will work 20-25 hours per week, but may go up to 30 hours per week on occasion, and will not exceed 960 hours total. The hourly rate is $48.91.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Oversee and promote the City’s volunteer program with an eye toward continuous improvement and program evolution.
• Provide direct support on special projects led by the Senior Management Analyst and/or Assistant City Manager.  
• Coordinate ongoing management of select City public art installations.
• Represent the City Manager’s Office on cross-departmental committees and teams, such as the Safety Committee and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and act as a conduit for critical information.
• Assist with the organization and implementation of community engagement events.
• Conduct research and analysis and make recommendations on the formulation of policies, procedures, and best practices.
• May draft staff reports or slide decks for presentation to city commissions and/or City Council on various policy and program topics.
• Develop requests for proposals and assist in negotiation and execution of contracts with consultants and service providers.
• Participate in the development and installation of new or revised programs, systems, procedures, and methods of operation.
• Assist in the coordination of intradepartmental and departmental activities with other City departments and divisions, and outside agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

• One year of general administrative experience, preferably in local government.
• Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major work in public or business administration or a closely related field.

The Bolinas Fire Protection District is a combination paid/volunteer fire department providing services in emergency medical care, fire protection, disaster response, fire prevention and community education. Bolinas is a unique coastal community with approximately 1,500 year-round residents. Thousands of visitors are also attracted to our beaches and surrounding National Parks year-round. The District employs a full-time Chief, full-time Administrative Manager, and three full-time Firefighters. We also rely on the support of a dedicated group of approximately 20 volunteer firefighters and EMT’s. The department responds to approximately 300 emergency and public assistance calls annually, with approximately 80% medical aid calls.

DUTIES:

• Report to the Bolinas Fire Chief
• Perform scene command and personnel supervision during incidents
• Perform fire apparatus engineer and firefighting duties
• Perform fire prevention activities and public education
• Assist in leading volunteer trainings and support the volunteer firefighting program
• Provide BLS emergency medical care
• Drive and operate fire apparatus and related equipment
• Maintain fire station, grounds and related equipment & apparatus

• Possession of Firefighter 1 (FF1) certification from an accredited organization

The City of Saratoga is looking for an accounting professional ready for the next step in their career to join our Administrative Services Department team as a full-time Accounting Technician. The Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative accounting duties related to the preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions for the City. Responsibilities include reconciling accounts and ledgers, preparing financial reports, executing batch runs and wire transfers, and maintaining both manual and computerized financial records. The role also involves establishing and updating vendor accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations, and assisting with financial reporting activities. The incumbent will be assigned to the Accounts Payable and Program Procurement Support areas and will report to the Finance Manager.

The Technician will have knowledge of and proficiency in: Terminology and practices of financial and account document processing and record-keeping, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, utility billing, and business licensing; Methods and techniques or preparing and maintaining records of financial transactions; Methods and techniques of researching and resolving accounting transactional discrepancies; Business arithmetic and basic accounting and financial management knowledge; Record-keeping principles and procedures; Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and ordinances relevant to the area(s) of responsibility; and related areas necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
