The City of American Canyon is seeking an entry level Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of maintenance and construction duties and operates public works/parks equipment. Initial hire and assignment will be for the Park’s division. Maintenance Worker I’s may advance to the Maintenance Worker II level with a salary range of $4,625-$5,620 per month, after a minimum of two years of successful service and upon the recommendation of the supervisor.
Performs semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and mechanical equipment operated by the City of San Dimas. Responsible for preventive maintenance program, vehicle/equipment maintenance and coordination of efforts for records and fleet/inventory control management. Manages the contracting and/or outsourcing of specific mechanical functions or operations. Performs mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on City of San Dimas equipment.
Under direction, organizes, supervises, assigns and schedules work crews engaged in the maintenance of parks and landscape infrastructure; develops and manages parkways, trails, sports fields, play lots, trees, shrubs, street median islands, sidewalk landscaped areas, and/or other special recreational facilities; provides responsible and technical staff assistance in the areas of horticulture, grounds, and equipment; performs related work as required.
