Associate Civil Engineer

Position may be filled at either level, depending on experience and qualifications.
The Assistant/Associate Civil Engineer performs engineering work on the following types of capital improvement projects: buildings, parks, levee, stormwater systems, lagoon, streets, traffic signals, water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems.
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker is assigned to the Streets and Sewers Division of the Public Works Department and is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks and operating power-driven road maintenance or construction equipment and trucks.
Examples of duties include:
- Operation and maintenance of power-driven street, sewer, and construction equipment
- Cleaning of sewer lines and storm drains
- Performance of concrete work and other construction and street resurfacing projects
The Department of Public Works is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Stationary Engineer II.
Stationary Engineer II is the journey-level classification and incumbents are responsible for a wide variety of repair and maintenance work in the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, emergency power systems, boiler equipment and piping repair, Building Automation systems, and miscellaneous equipment repair.
