The City of Dixon is recruiting qualified Lifeguard/Swim Instructor I/II applicants for the 2026 Aquatic season.

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor and Senior Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, Lifeguard/Swim Instructor performs a variety of duties to ensure the City of Dixon swimming pool is a safe and enjoyable aquatic facility. Supervises pool patrons, enforces pool rules, performs first aid and emergency rescues, instructs swim lessons, performs cashiering duties, leads recreational activities; performs related and other work as required.

Staff may be expected to work weekends and on fixed holidays.  Those who work on a City Holiday will earn 1 1/2 times their base hourly salary.

This position is subject to random controlled substance testing and/or breath alcohol testing.

Employment Processing: Those selected are subject to pre-employment drug testing and fingerprinting. In accordance with Federal law, an employee must provide proof of identity and proof that they may legally work in the United States.

THE ORGANIZATION

ABOUT THE POSITION
 Under policy direction from the City Council, the City Manager serves as the chief executive officer for the City; The City Manager plans, manages, organizes and directs the overall administrative activities and operations of the City, develops and implements budget and financial strategies for the City and provides complex administrative support to the City Council. The City Manager develops and recommends policies, procedures, rules, and regulations governing City operations for presentation and approval from the City Council and ensures proper communication and implementation of policy decisions. This position directs the preparation of staff reports and agenda items and ensures that all City Council actions are properly recorded and implemented.

THE POSITION

The City of Patterson is currently recruiting to one (1) part-time position for Pool Manager with the Recreation & Community Services Department for their Summer program and to establish an Eligibility List. Under the supervision of the Recreation and Community Services Director and the Recreation Coordinator, the Pool Manager will be responsible for the operations of the pool. The Pool Manager will be expected to schedule Lifeguards to work as well as oversee the Lifeguards. The Pool Managers are to teach Lifeguards the pool policies and to assist any Lifeguard in decisions made at the pool. ABOUT THE POSITION

Under the general direction, the Parking Enforcement Officer performs a variety of law enforcement support duties, with the majority of responsibilities involving enforcement of parking regulations. The PEO performs technical field and office work to enforce appropriate codes, laws, and regulations and to execute related programs pertaining to on-street and off-street public parking within the City of Mill Valley.

Examples of Essential Duties (include but are not limited to):

• Patrol assigned routes on foot and/or driving a parking enforcement vehicle.
• Enforce parking laws, codes, and regulations.
• Identify vehicles in violation of parking laws, codes, and/or regulations, and issue appropriate citations or remedies.
• Collect coins deposited in meters.
• Prepare statistical reports on activities, as requested.
• Minor repair and maintenance of parking meters.

• Mark and arrange for towing of abandoned or illegally parked vehicles or impounding of vehicles for outstanding tickets.

• Provide assistance and general information related to permit areas to a diverse population.
• Explain code and policy requirements.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot computer programs, software and other related equipment used to perform required duties.
• Set up and remove barricades and temporary signs.
• Direct traffic.
• Front counter reception and customer service.
