The County of Yuba is recruiting for the position of Social Worker III/III Master’s Level in the Child and Adult Protective Services Division of the Health & Human Services Department in an effort to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Under general supervision, incumbents are fully competent to independently perform the most complex and sensitive social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; identify, access and document abuse and neglect cases; provide counseling and support services to children and parents; refer clients to services; prepare detailed, complex court documents and testify in court as required; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision. The Social Worker III and the Social Worker III – Master’s Level are the advanced journey-level classes in the general social work series.

Deputy Sheriff’s perform a wide variety of patrol officer and related duties required to effectively respond to and resolve the normal scope of peace situations, including the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, criminal investigation, report writing, crime prevention and suppression, case preparation and testimony, and providing information and assistance to the public and perform related duties as assigned. The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of  Human Resources Technician. Under general supervision, performs a broad range of technical, administrative and confidential functions in a centralized human resources and risk management setting including processes of personnel, training, benefits, and County-wide payroll processing; audits reports and systems; analysis of data; assists with administration of County’s benefit plans, human resources information systems (HRIS), position control; coordinates County-wide training programs; provides support in various employee and labor relations areas; and performs related work as assigned.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Veteran's Services Officer within the Veteran's Services Division of the Health and Human Services Department. Under general supervision, the incumbent will organize, and coordinate the day-to-day operational activities of the Yuba-Sutter Bi-County Veteran Services program.

The incumbent will utilize their strong understanding of veterans' advocacy and the California Military and Veterans Code to provide guidance to staff and support to veterans and their dependents in accessing the full range of services and benefits available to them.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of  Human Resources Analyst I/II in the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Analyst performs a wide range of complex and professional analytical duties in support of a centralized human resources, organizational services and risk management office. 

This incumbent will use their strong understanding of human resources competencies and regulations to provide advice to supervisors, managers, and employees on all aspects of human resources policies, practices and procedures; research and analyze laws and regulations for compliance of human resources functions. Depending on the assignment, the incumbent will manage the County’s workforce development program, oversee employee development and training, and handle leave management. Other responsibilities may include diverse training for new and current staff; safety and risk management support; coordination of employee benefits; HRIS and payroll processes; workers' compensation claims; protected leaves administration and interactive process; and other duties as assigned.

•  Research and analyze county needs for organizational development and workforce planning; assist in implementation of county-wide development; monitor and evaluate effectiveness of development programs and make recommendations if gaps occur.

• Analyze, coordinate, and maintain general and medical leaves of absence in compliance with federal and state leave acts (FMLA and CFRA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and/or state laws; engage in the interactive process to ascertain precise job related limitations, identify potential accommodations and assess their effectiveness; coordinate leave benefits; and distribute written and verbal information to inform County management, supervisors and employees of program requirements.

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations. The work also involves interdepartmental cooperation with various public safety agencies located throughout the County to coordinate the most effective response to requests for assistance from the public.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security. 

About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for a Deputy Director of Community Development and Services Agency - Planning Department. The incumbent will Assist the Community Development and Services Agency (CDSA) Director in planning, organizing and administering the work in the programs and activities of the Planning Department. Implementation and management of the strategic plan and performance management in a manner that supports CDSA program development and decision-making; act as a liaison with other County departments and agencies that have a regulatory or shared interest in service provision with CDSA; and perform related duties as assigned.  

Examples of Duties:

• Provide day-to-day supervision over assigned divisions, programs, and special support functions.  
• Manage, plan, organize, administer, review and evaluate the activities of assigned CDSA staff and contract staff through subordinate levels of supervision; evaluate program effectiveness and modify accordingly.  
• Assist in developing and directing the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for assigned functional areas of CDSA; implement policy and procedural changes as required.  
• Assist in the development of funding sources and oversee the submission of grant applications and the administration of grants, including the timely submission of required program, audit and financial reports. 
• Direct the preparation and administration of multiple budgets for assigned functional areas of CDSA. 
• Interpret laws and regulations and resolve complex administrative and service provision problems within the required laws, regulations and standards.  
• Monitor changes in laws, regulations, programs and techniques in all functional areas; evaluate their effect upon CDSA activities; recommend and implement policy and procedural changes as appropriate.
• Prepare and direct the preparation of a wide variety of analytical and statistical reports on behalf of CDSA for county management, governmental agencies, community partners, and private organizations; make presentations to the County Administrator, CDSA Director, Board of Supervisors and other agencies; represent the County in meetings with individual and groups.
