The District has one open, full-time position of Treatment Plant Trainee I in the Water Treatment department of the Operations Division. The Public Works Department is looking to fill two (2) Air Conditioning Mechanic vacancies. The Air Conditioning Mechanic position is responsible for performing HVAC duties at more than 200 civic building sites across San Jose. The position will be responsible for performing the operational support, adjustment, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems and auxiliary equipment.
This position will require controls experience, mechanical equipment experience, and water treatment experience.

Specific responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
• Conducts field inspections of residential and commercial sites at various stages of construction, alteration, and repair for conformance to state and local building, plumbing, electrical, housing, energy conservation, and wastewater codes, plans, specifications, standards, and drawings.
• Inspects construction framing, foundations, grading, mechanical systems, and electrical, plumbing, and sanitary sewer installations on new construction and alterations to verify code compliance.
