THE ROLE AND PROJECTS:
Reporting to the Economic Development Program Manager, the Intern will be engaged in project-based work to advance key economic development strategic initiatives.  Examples of the work include, but are not limited to the following:

• Implement tasks outlined in the San Rafael Economic Development Strategic Plan.
• Develop a business support communications plan in collaboration with business support partners.
• Support Division Manager to activate outreach to businesses.
• Learn and assist with contract management.
• Evaluate resources available to various business groups through an equity lens.  Research strategies for business support for underserved sectors in San Rafael.
• Support activation of the Downtown San Rafael Arts District Strategic Plan.
• Administrative tasks as assigned.

HOURS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This position will work approximately 12-20 hours per week.  The candidate will have hands-on learning and work experience at San Rafael City Hall and outreach in the community.

This is a temporary position and hours worked may not exceed 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 thru June 30).

In accordance with the salary resolution, this position receives no benefits with the exception of Paid Sick Leave and a retirement plan.  

• Temporary employees are entitled to receive sick leave in accordance with California's Paid Sick Leave Law (AB 1522).
• Participation in a retirement plan is mandated by Federal Law and you will be enrolled in the Public Agency Retirement System (PARS):

The position of Administrative Analyst is a fully qualified journey-level professional classification. To administer and manage the mental health programs and services of the Hayward Police Department. Under general direction, plans, provides, and implements mental health services and programs within the Hayward Police Department.

Provide oversight and direction over counseling and treatment programs in agreement and conjunction with departmental policies and procedures; provides on-site and follow-up counseling sessions.
 
Participate in professional staff conferences concerning mental health assessment and treatment.

Research topics and presents comprehensive training programs, workshops, and lectures on a variety of topics to department staff.
 
Provide consultation and presents training; implements programs for the early detection and management of mental health conditions.

Under general supervision of the Senior Automotive Equipment Specialist, typical duties of the Communications Installer include installing 2-way radios into a variety of vehicles, including but not limited to Police vehicles and motorcycles, Fire department apparatus and other city department vehicles.

Installations are to be industry accepted best practices including the selection of proper wire sizing based on electrical loading, equipment placement with emphasis on serviceability, proper wire routing, proper power distribution, antenna placement, and grounding/power return.

The Communications Installer will also be responsible for the installation of intercom systems, emergency/warning lighting, vehicle electronics, computer equipment and terminals, antennas, and custom installations of non-standard equipment. Roles & Responsibilities:

Highly Desirable Qualifications:

• Possess a BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification.
• Be an Outside/Inside Plant specialist. Airport experience preferred.
• Ability to determine the scope, cost, and time for existing and new OSP/ISP projects that are moderate to complex in a matrix environment.
• Outside/Inside plant construction and project management experience and inventory management experience.
• Familiarity with data center industry standards, building codes, and safety standards.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of fiber optic engineering principles with OSP job-related functional areas to include general best practices, procedures, and industry standards.
• 5 years or more experiences working in mission critical environments (e.g., airports, utilities, telecommunications carriers, etc.) requiring coordination across multi-disciplines for delivering a common goal.
• 5+ years mission critical Data Center operations experience.
• 5+ years' Telecom industry experience.
• 5+ years' experience with Outside Plant cabling (OSP) & Inside Plant cabling (ISP), structured cabling systems.
• Experience coordinating with GIS teams to ensure as-builts are reflected in existing mapping tools.
• Experience working with GIS teams to document all fiber paths, terminations, and splices for all cabling projects.

Salary Information:
The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate's qualifications and experience. The below salary ranges include an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay.

About the Communication Division

The Communications Division implements environmental-specific media, outreach, and marketing activities to support the health of our community and environment. The communication services division includes strategic communications planning, multi-cultural community engagement, media relations, social media, collateral development, and website management.The Environmental Service Department is recruiting for a Senior Public Information Representative within the department's Communications Division. Manages and monitors vulnerability scanning tools and makes recommendations to remediate identified Cyber Security vulnerabilities. Manages Cyber Security audits and makes recommendations to remediate identified threats.
IT infrastructure: ensuring the network perimeter is protected, investigates security breaches and threats and recommends changes to address security issues; manages processes for operating system hardening, and intrusion detection; manages security configurations for server, database, and application systems; conducts electronic discovery searches, manages reporting on security enterprise tools; manages security software server/client updates, supports the Unit Manager in maintaining the Cyber Security program and policies.

This is a journey-level non-sworn classification in the Police Department that performs the full range of duties related property and evidence as well as assists the patrol officers with minor evidence collection, reporting writing and responding to related calls for service as needed to effectively provide police services. Incumbents are expected to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative.
