The District is looking for a Plant Operator Grade III to help operate and maintain our wastewater treatment and recycled water facilities. In this role, you’ll inspect, monitor, and maintain plant systems and equipment to ensure reliable and compliant operation. The Management Analyst Series includes both Trainee and Journey-Level positions, providing a career progression path for individuals performing professional-level analytical work. Both classifications involve significant analytical ability and require incumbents to work independently or as part of a team on a variety of budget, project, program management, administrative, and research tasks. Incumbents may rotate among different departments as needed and may be assigned to supervise full-time and part-time employees as well as volunteers. If assigned duties in support of labor negotiations and/or labor relations, the position may be designated as confidential.

The Trainee position is designed for individuals gaining professional-level experience while actively working toward obtaining a bachelor’s degree or may be a professional with a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study working to gain relevant, hands-on experience. The Journey-Level position requires both a degree and experience along with a higher degree of expertise, experience, independent judgment, and application of policies and procedures.

MANAGEMENT ANALYST – TRAINEE
This is a trainee-level, exempt position with a steep learning curve, designed to provide entry-level professional experience over a twelve to twenty-four-month period. The incumbent applies education and related work experience while actively pursuing a bachelor's degree. In the alternative, a Trainee may hold a bachelor's degree, but does not have the experience for a journey-level role just yet. Under general and/or close supervision of an executive or department manager, the incumbent will train on and perform a variety of analytical tasks, including budget preparation, program management, and policy evaluation. As experience and education progress, the incumbent may begin to take on more complex assignments. 

While in the Trainee capacity, the incumbent is an at-will, probationary employee. Upon successfully gaining the required experience or bachelor’s degree, the incumbent will be evaluated for potential placement in the Journey-Level Management Analyst classification.

MANAGEMENT ANALYST – JOURNEY LEVEL
This is a journey-level, exempt position in which the incumbent operates with greater independence and responsibility. The position requires both breadth and depth of knowledge in theories, concepts, and techniques used in budget, project, and policy analysis, along with a thorough understanding of policies and procedures. Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform complex analytical work, evaluate management projects, and may develop policy recommendations.

Unlike the Trainee, the Journey-Level Analyst is expected to work with greater autonomy, requiring less oversight in conducting research, preparing reports, and making recommendations on administrative and operational matters. The incumbent may also be assigned to supervise employees and volunteers.

The Bolinas Fire Protection District is a combination paid/volunteer fire department providing services in emergency medical care, fire protection, disaster response, fire prevention and community education. Bolinas is a unique coastal community with approximately 1,500 year-round residents. Thousands of visitors are also attracted to our beaches and surrounding National Parks year-round. The District employs a full-time Chief, full-time Administrative Manager, and three full-time Firefighters. We also rely on the support of a dedicated group of approximately 20 volunteer firefighters and EMT’s. The department responds to approximately 300 emergency and public assistance calls annually, with approximately 80% medical aid calls.

DUTIES:

• Report to the Bolinas Fire Chief
• Perform scene command and personnel supervision during incidents
• Perform fire apparatus engineer and firefighting duties
• Perform fire prevention activities and public education
• Assist in leading volunteer trainings and support the volunteer firefighting program
• Provide BLS emergency medical care
• Drive and operate fire apparatus and related equipment
• Maintain fire station, grounds and related equipment & apparatus

The Town is hiring for a Senior Development Review Technician to perform advanced technical planning and building support. The Senior Development Review Technician is the advanced journey level in the Development Review Technician series. Incumbents provide work coordination and training for other Development Review Technicians or consultants (as applicable), as well as perform the full range of technical building and planning support duties. They are required to possess thorough knowledge of the requirements, processes and procedures of the Planning and Building Department, and some working knowledge of Public Works is desirable. This position is distinguished from other classes within the series by the level of responsibility assumed, complexity of duties assigned, and independence of action taken. Incumbents are expected to provide more comprehensive support to the Planning and Building Department and may be assigned work coordination and lead responsibilities. 

Foster City is looking for a fast learner with some planning or building experience to fill the position of Building Permit Technician. This is an entry-level position that can serve as the first step in establishing a career in Planning or Building services. Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way would be:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree or completion of technical courses in building codes or inspection principles or techniques is desirable. ICBO Permit Technician Certification is highly desirable.

Experience: Two (2) years experience working in a building or planning department, with six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in computerized building permit applications processing.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications received, a limited number of qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. The list will remain in effect for at least one year unless exhausted sooner. 

The department will invite the most qualified candidates from the eligibility list to a final department interview. The Community Development Department will make the hiring decision.

SALARY

This vacancy will be filled either as an Associate Engineer or Senior Engineer. The anticipated hiring range for the Associate Engineer position is $111,100 - $138,876 annually, with a full salary range up to $166,651. The anticipated hiring range for the Senior Engineer position is $122,634 - $153,293 annually, with a full salary range up to $183,952. DESCRIPTION  

The City of Thousand Oaks Public Works Department currently has an opening for an Associate/Senior Engineer! We are seeking engineers with the competence and experience to execute design and construction projects with confidence and professionalism. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated skills in the areas of water and wastewater utilities, land development, roadway improvement, energy resilience, engineering design, and/or construction management across all civil engineering disciplines. 

PRIMIARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Associate Engineer:  

• Prepares and oversees the preparation of complex and technical engineering studies, plans, and reports   

• Assists the Division Manager and Team Leader/Senior Engineer in managing varying responsibilities including permitting, design and construction of water, wastewater, storm drain, pavement, energy resiliency and roadway improvements 

• Assists with the preparation of construction documents, drawings, estimates, and specifications    

• Coordinates and performs professional planning and engineering work including reviewing proposed land development plans 

• Participates in the review, development, and/or revision of the various elements of plans, ordinances, and other policies and procedures
