SALARY
The anticipated hiring range for the Assistant Analyst position is $80,594 - $100,743 annually, with a full salary range up to $120,892. The City typically makes offers within the hiring range based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

DESCRIPTION
The City of Thousand Oaks has an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Analyst within the Facilities Division of the Finance Department. This position supports the analytical, administrative, and operational functions of the Facilities Division, which oversees City Hall, the Civic Arts Plaza theaters, libraries, and other municipal facilities.
This role supports a range of analytical and operational responsibilities, including contract administration, procurement preparation, budgeting support, and data analysis. The Assistant Analyst applies analytical judgment to manage vendor contracts, prepare draft staff reports and RFP materials, and analyze operational information to support effective facilities operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to exercise discretion and independent judgment while balancing multiple priorities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a key administrative and analytical point of contact for the Facilities Division, ensuring accurate documentation, data integrity, and coordination across functions
- Conduct analytical research on vendors and suppliers, including cost comparisons, service levels, and performance metrics to support procurement decisions
- Monitor, evaluate, and analyze service contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance, performance accountability, and alignment with operational needs
- Assist with budget development, forecasting, tracking, and reconciliation by analyzing facilities-related operational and financial data
- Support contract and vendor management by tracking deliverables, evaluating vendor performance, and identifying opportunities for service and cost improvements
- Prepare analytical summaries, staff reports, correspondence, and data-driven materials to support facilities operations, projects, and policy decisions
