The City of Belmont is seeking a Senior Lifeguard/Pool Manager to supervise the Summer Aquatics Program at the Carlmont Aquatics Facility located at 1400 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA 94002

Salary (depending on experience) and Hours:

Monday – Friday Shifts - NO WEEKENDS!

Pay range depending on experience $23.97 - $29.14

Typical shift is from 9:15AM-5:15PM Monday-Thursday and Friday 9:15AM-3:30PM.

• Must have at least one summer of supervisory experience.

• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred.

• Must be available for paid training Wednesday, June 17 – Friday, June 19, 2026.

• Must be available for the summer aquatics season June 22 – July 31, 2026

• Pool closed Friday, July 3, 2026 for the Holiday.

Lifeguard Certification

Must hold or obtain ARC Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid Certificates by June 1st, 2026. With proof of payment, the City will reimburse you for the cost of the lifeguard certification training at the end of the aquatics season if certification is obtained between August 2025 and June 2026.

What You Will Do

• Supervise and ensure patron safety at all times, including clearly and professionally conveying rules to patrons and enforcing facility regulations.

• Administer first aid and provide emergency care as required.

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and with exposure to pool chemicals.

• Maintain a safe aquatic environment.

• Greet the public and respond to questions and inquiries.

• Assist the Swim Lesson program.

• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor by wearing appropriate uniform or attire for the position and exhibiting respect and enthusiasm.

• Facilitate program activities according to a prepared curriculum for Camps and Swim Lessons.

• Provide feedback regarding the City's aquatic program and activity schedules to the participants or supervisors.

• Conduct proper opening and closing procedures of the aquatic facility.

• Assist in staff trainings and meetings.

• Analyze program needs and recommend new and innovative program ideas.

• Set up proper furniture arrangements, equipment, and facility maintenance.

• Work as a Lead with Lifeguards and Swim Instructors and offer assistance in maintaining the proper execution of all aspects of facility programs, including feedback.

• Ensure all policies of the City of Belmont are followed during all programs, special events and facility use.

• Provide excellent customer service and problem solving.

• Perform functions of registration software applications.

• Prepare daily deposits and reconcile daily reports.

• Ensure all revenues received at assigned site are properly entered and accounted for.

This is a part-time position.  Hours will range from 25 to 38 hours per week with no weekend shifts. Typical shifts are from Monday - Thursday 9:30AM-5:15PM and Fridays 9:30AM-3:15PM.

• Must be available for paid training Wednesday, June 17 – Friday, June 19, 2026.

• New Hires must be available for all 6 weeks of the summer aquatics season from June 22 – July 31, 2026. Returners must be available for majority of the summer.

• Pool closed Friday, July 3, 2026 for the Holiday.

Lifeguard Certification

What You Will Do

Lifeguards/Swim Instructors will ensure the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and instructing swim lessons for participants of all ages.

The essential functions of this position include: maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; act immediately and appropriately to ensure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency; provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services; perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility; prepare and maintain appropriate reports; possess thorough knowledge of rescue techniques; understand and enforcement of facility rules, policies and procedures, demonstrate leadership, public relations skills and decision-making skills.

In addition, Swim Instructors are responsible for instructing all swim lesson participants, ensuring the safety of all participants in their class, evaluating students participating in swim lessons, submitting completed participant report cards on time, and attending mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled.

The individual must be able to represent the City of Belmont in a professional manner and follow the City’s polices and regulations.

This position performs a variety of highly complex technical para-professional administrative duties in support of fiscal and accounting procedures, including budget preparation and auditing a variety of financial records under limited supervision. This position will require thorough knowledge of accounting terminology and procedures. The position is full-time, and scheduled for forty (40) hours per week. 

JOB DUTIES

• Coordinates services and repairs with maintenance staff and/or vendors; conducts inspections, investigations, or interviews as needed to identify problems.
• Enters data into computer systems and maintains information systems database; enter data, processes transactions, assess and validates data, compiles documentation, examines, reconciles and adjusts financial records and reports.

The City of Menlo Park is recruiting for the exciting and challenging position of Management Analyst I/II. As a member of the Administrative Services team, the incumbent will serve as an experienced accounting and financial analyst for the City, with primary responsibility for maintaining, reconciling, and analyzing the City’s general ledger and related financial records. This position will provide financial analysis and reporting support while ensuring compliance with applicable governmental accounting standards and internal control requirements. The incumbent will collaborate closely with other finance functions, including but not limited to payroll and accounts payable.

Additionally, the incumbent will assist with annual, interim, single, and other required audits and will support the development and production of the annual budget, forecasts, and other related financial documents.

The roles in the Accounting series support the City’s finance team by performing complex accounting tasks, preparing and reconciling financial data, assisting with the payroll and budget processes, and delivering responsive customer service.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Technician classification has a solid background in the municipal accounting process and regulatory compliance, can prepare clear and accurate financial reports, has some experience with payroll software, Excel, and payroll processing, and communicates effectively while working collaboratively and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting month-end, quarterly, and year-end accounting and reporting activities, and may assist with payroll-related filings, labor cost analysis, and audit support. This role requires knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, financial reporting and office systems, applicable laws, and customer service practices, along with the ability to perform technical accounting tasks. • Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible technical level experience in accounting or finance to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge and abilities. Experience performing fiscal record keeping or accounting work in a government finance environment is desirable. 
• Training: Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college in business, accounting, finance or a related field.

Senior Accounting Assistant

• Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
• Experience: Three years of experience similar to that of Accounting Assistant II with the City of San Rafael.  
• Education: An Associate of Arts with course work in accounting or bookkeeping.

Accounting Assistant I/II

• For AA I: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with some course work in accounting preferred;

The Position: 

This is a lead role for the City’s Key Customers and the key customer engagement team. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing our business relationships with key customers, ensuring their needs are met with exceptional service and support.

Experience supervising assigned professional and other staff is desirable.

The Legal Division provides a wide array of legal services to support the entire Air District, including handling enforcement cases; advising on the California Environmental Quality Act, AB617 Community Emission Reduction Plans, contracts, grants, and finance matters; developing regulatory language; supporting the permitting program; reviewing records under the Public Records Act; and staying abreast of current legal developments in air quality throughout California and nationwide. The Division utilizes a variety of tools to resolve enforcement actions, such as abatement orders, civil enforcement, and coordinating with other enforcement agencies, like local district attorneys or the state Attorney General.
