PROGRAM LEADER (Youth Services/Kids’ Night Out/Kids Day Out Programs)

Salary Range: $17.37 to $23.15/hour (DOE)

Part-time temporary, non-benefitted position; 10 hours per month in Kids’ Night Out Program and Bi-monthly Friday night availability (6-11 pm) required. Additional shifts are available on San Ramon Unified School District days off school, during recreation pop ups, and special events. (not-to-exceed 950 hours per fiscal year)

GENERAL DUTIES

Under the general supervision of the Youth Program Coordinator, Youth Services staff is responsible for supervision and safety within the bi-monthly Kids’ Night Out and Kids Day Out Program, including implementing a variety of crafts, games and activities for youth ages 5 to 11.  As a Youth Services staff member, you will:

• Gain experience leading arts, crafts, games, and activities;
• Serve as a mentor and role model to youth;
• Learn to work as part of a team and lead activities;
• Acquire skills to safely and appropriately supervise youth in a staff-to-youth ratio environment.
• Assist with recreation pop ups and special events
• Other duties as assigned

Specific to Youth Services:

• Plan and execute duties related to special interest classes, school-year and seasonal programs, and special events.
• Serve as a role model and advocate for youth.
• Effectively facilitate and/or lead small and large groups of youth.
• Communicate effectively with youth and their parents.
• Willing and available to work flexible hours as needed.

GENERAL INFORMATION

About the Position: The Fleet Services Program Manager will oversee the full cycle of our vehicle and equipment fleet, from budgeting and acquisition to maintenance, compliance, and replacement.  This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable fleet operations by managing contracts, developing specifications, coordinating repairs, and leading asset management strategies.  The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in fleet and equipment maintenance, proven experience with budgeting and program administration, skilled at ensuring regulatory compliance, and the ability to evaluate fleet needs and recommend cost effective solutions.

Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential for the position.

Education & Experience:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Equivalent to an associate degree in fleet management, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field and
• Four (4) years of full-time experience in administration of a fleet or equipment maintenance program or facility, including at least one year at a lead or supervisory level.

Licenses and Certifications:  Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.            

Work Environment: This full-time position reports to the Facilities & Fleet Manager and is part of the Facilities & Fleet Department at Midpen’s Administrative Office in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position following successful onboarding and may be eligible for a 9/80 schedule.  To meet service needs, three days of working on-site is required per week – set days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the office. The Fleet Services Program Manager will often meet with Midpen staff in the district field offices.  Employees may work in the field and occasionally be exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, or road hazards. Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Recreation Leader 1: Current high school student 
• Recreation Leader 2: High school graduate or current college student 
• Senior Recreation Leader: College graduate with leadership experience

Education and Training

• Experience in recreational activities, effective communication and interaction skills with youth, and ability to collaborate with staff. Must be at least 16 years old.
• Recreation leader 1 and 2: Students under the age of 18 are required to obtain a work permit from their school. 
• All staff 18+ are required to pass a fingerprint check submitted to the Department of Justice. 
• Sr. Recreation Leader: Sufficient education and experience to satisfactorily perform the duties of the classification.

Preschool Aide

The City of Burlingame is looking for a passionate, caring, and creative Preschool Aide. Under the direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This includes helping with classroom activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and clean learning environment.

The Recreation Specialist is a unique position that is primarily responsible for specific projects or long term projects requiring relevant knowledge and expertise.

The Town of Colma Recreation Services Department is currently accepting applications for Recreation Leaders for Summer 2026.  The Recreation Department provides programs and activities for Colma residents of all ages ranging from infants to seniors. Program elements include fitness, enrichment, cultural events, special events, sporting events, trips, and community events. It is the goal of the Recreation Department to offer a balanced program ensuring all elements are offered to all age groups throughout the year.
