Definition
Under general supervision, performs professional human resources work involving a wide variety of human resources functions.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the journey level in the Human Resources Analyst series. This level is characterized by assignments that are complex and sensitive in nature and require a high level of competence and understanding of a functional area(s). Incumbents in this class carry out work assignments with independence. This position may be required to provide lead functional or technical direction of paraprofessional or clerical employees.

An incumbent has responsibility for independent action, planning the work, using experienced judgment, solving problems, and the results of the work. Assigned duties require the exercise of judgment or choice among possible actions, sometimes without clear precedents, yet with concern for the consequences of the action. This classification differs from the next lower level of Associate Human Resources Analyst in that incumbents receive less supervision and are expected to perform more responsible assignments with a great deal of independence. This class differs from the higher level Senior Human Resources Analyst class in that the latter has full responsibility for one or more program areas and supervises and/or trains other professional-level employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards
Sufficient education and increasingly responsible experience to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Development of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree; and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience performing human resources management and analysis and/or training for a public or private sector organization.

Attainment of experience in a large public agency is preferred.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking to fill 16 full-time Maintenance Assistant positions.

The Maintenance Assistant total salary range is $24.74 to $31.56 hourly or $51,459.20 to $65,644.80 annually . The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

The Infrastructure Maintenance Division of DOT is looking to fill 16 full-time vacant positions. These positions perform work in the maintenance and repair of concrete, pavement, sewers, landscaping, traffic signs, and traffic markings. Duties include digging holes, trenches, and ditches. They also operate a wide range of hand, mechanical, and power tools, as well as a variety of light and heavy vehicles, trucks, and equipment relevant to work performed, ensuring compliance with safe working practices. Maintenance crews provide services seven days a week. Individuals in this classification may be required to work alternate work shifts, including grave and swing, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call.

The Property Manager I/II position is in the Finance and Administration Division at San José Mineta International Airport and reports to a Senior Property Manager in one of three groups including Airlines, Concessions, or Commercial Properties. This position has overall responsibility for day-to-day property management of Airport tenants, including airlines, concessionaires, airline support companies, rental cars, Fixed Base Operators and non-aeronautical commercial properties. The final candidate's qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. In addition to the starting salary, employees in this classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay, which is included in the range below.

The Property Manager I salary range is $84,084.00 - $102,276.72 annually.

Provide complex and advanced technical assistance in support of managing and implementing Valley Water’s cyber security systems on the Enterprise network and SCADA/ Industrial Control System/ Operational Technology network. Monitor cyber security logs, respond to cyber security incidents, plan design, and implement a variety of complex cyber security systems assists with determining hardware and software systems requirements and specifications; performs a variety of complex technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
 
Serves as the technical lead on the design and implementation of Valley Water’s most complex and highly integrated Cyber Security systems involving new, unfamiliar, or emerging technologies; to perform the most complex professional level duties in the development, installation, coding, integration, documentation, testing, and maintenance of Cyber Security controls and systems; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cyber Security: monitor and maintain security on infrastructure systems including IT security applications and appliances. Example: Microsoft security patching, updating appliance firmware, maintaining Cyber Security definitions, monitoring Anti-Spam solution, monitoring Cyber Security appliances, and recommending modifications to existing Cyber Security hardware, software, and overall security stance. Manages and monitors vulnerability scanning tools and makes recommendations to remediate identified Cyber Security vulnerabilities. Manages Cyber Security audits and makes recommendations to remediate identified threats.
IT infrastructure: ensuring the network perimeter is protected, investigates security breaches and threats and recommends changes to address security issues; manages processes for operating system hardening, and intrusion detection; manages security configurations for server, database, and application systems; conducts electronic discovery searches, manages reporting on security enterprise tools; manages security software server/client updates, supports the Unit Manager in maintaining the Cyber Security program and policies.
IT/OT/ICS operational technology: Monitor network and security appliances for security breaches, updating firmware, maintaining security patches keeping security policies up to date, and maintaining documentation.

THE POSITION

Under supervision of the Public Works Manager, the Maintenance Worker I performs entry level unskilled, semi-skilled, or skilled labor in construction, maintenance, and related service activities applied to the areas of general landscaping, grounds maintenance and street maintenance.

 TYPICAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Grounds Maintenance:  Operate mowers and other equipment and tools for purposes of cutting grass, trimming trees and shrubs, and planting and transplanting flowers, bulbs, shrubs, and trees.
• Storm Prevention Maintenance:  Assist in cleaning ditches, culverts, and storm drains.
• Street Maintenance: Assist in repainting of pavement markings, basic pothole, and street repair; installation and repair of street signs and markers; mixing and application of Class III pesticide materials.
• Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance:  Assist in the care, maintenance and cleaning of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• General:  Contact residents concerning maintenance and service problems; refer complaints and requests to proper supervisory personnel. Assist supervisory personnel in preparing and maintaining proper records and logs. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS

The general knowledge of basic construction methods, materials and terminology, standard hand tools, light equipment, and light vehicles; general knowledge of basic safety precautions and practices necessary in working with hand tools, light equipment, and vehicles; general knowledge of basic methods and practices involved in the care of shrubs, trees and flowers. Ability to learn technically complex construction and maintenance procedures in water systems, streets, parks and building maintenance; use hand and power tools; perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time under inclement weather conditions; work alone or with small groups.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid California driver's license and ability to maintain a satisfactory driving history.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Completion of high school or its equivalent, or completion of a trade or vocational school.  Some directly related experience is desirable.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Monthly Salary: $4,855 to $6,269 per month. Placement within the range will be based upon the selected candidate’s experience and salary history.

 The Assistant City Clerk’s Office/City Manager’s Office is recruiting to fill a Deputy City Clerk. The Assistant City Clerk’s Office is organized under the City Clerk’s Office.  The Office of the Assistant City Clerk processes the agendas for and attends all meetings of the Council and Authorities Concurrent and Stadium Authority meetings, maintains accurate and up-to-date records of the proceedings of those meetings and makes those records open for public inspection.  The Position: 
 The Deputy City Clerk will report to the Assistant City Clerk and perform highly complex administrative and analytical work. This position will assist the Assistant City Clerk in the administration of the City Clerk's Office. The incumbent will assist in developing, implementing and coordinating projects, programs and procedures. This position is responsible for assisting with Public Record Act (PRA) requests and this position will also support projects and programs within the City Manager’s Office. Incumbents in this position will have considerable independence in making judgment related to their assignments and must handle situations with great sensitivity, tact and diplomacy. May supervise or act as lead worker to staff involved in management activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
