This department is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Power Resources Specialist I/II position to support the Risk Management and Contracts Administration Division.

This position is part of an exciting fast-paced team responsible for mitigating risks and managing a power portfolio comprised of hundreds of megawatts of renewable energy projects.

The selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Evaluate, review, and validate the accuracy of market positions and risk metrics such as mark-to-market, value at risk, gross margin at risk.
• Perform quantitative and analytical data modeling to quantify risks, evaluate risk reduction strategies, aid strategic/ operational decision making and provide insights.
• Update, manage and validate accuracy of Power BI business intelligence dashboards related to energy risk management such as risk limits, forward prices, collateral.
• Execute monthly and ad-hoc data reporting and quantitative modeling tasks.
• Validate and forecast collateral calls from counterparties and the CAISO and verify accuracy of collateral records.
• Collaborate with different divisions and IT department to support the build and implementation of data repository.
• Provide analytical support for power purchase and sale agreements and power supply audits.
• Compile reports, summaries, and presentations to communicate findings to management.
• Understand SJCE Risk Management Policy and Regulations and manage reviews and amendments.
• Support the development of middle office procedures.
• Monitor and evaluate energy market risks and market events. Develop and share knowledge of energy industry trends, new developments, and emerging risks.

The Risk Management and Contracts Administration Division is responsible for providing independent oversight of the risks in transacting for energy products and services as well as ensuring compliance with adopted risk management policies and procedures. This unit provides strategic support to facilitate the development and execution of various contracts, and also manages the contracts administration and settlements function.

Salary Information:

Power Resources Specialist I is $99,503.04 - $121,255.68.

Power Resources Specialist II is $108,282.72-$131,913.60.

THE POSITION: The City Manager’s Office at the City of San Mateo has an opportunity for an intern to work on a number of projects. • Program Improvement. Research and prepare findings reports on the effectiveness of our volunteer and ESL City Government Academy programs. Identify best practices and ways to improve both programs to attract and retain more volunteers and participants.
• Age-Friendly Business Certification. Assist in administering a pilot program to promote and inform businesses about the City’s Age-Friendly Business program and certify businesses as “age-friendly”.
• Event Support Assistance. Provide on-site support to help special community events with registration, attendee questions, event setup and other work as needed.
• Emergency Preparedness Planning. Assist in the Citywide effort to plan and prepare for natural disasters, public health emergencies, and other emergencies impacting the community or region.
In addition, the intern may work on a variety of other projects depending upon their time and interests.

THE POSITION

Under supervision of the Public Works Manager, the Maintenance Worker I performs entry level unskilled, semi-skilled, or skilled labor in construction, maintenance, and related service activities applied to the areas of general landscaping, grounds maintenance and street maintenance.

 TYPICAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Grounds Maintenance:  Operate mowers and other equipment and tools for purposes of cutting grass, trimming trees and shrubs, and planting and transplanting flowers, bulbs, shrubs, and trees.
• Storm Prevention Maintenance:  Assist in cleaning ditches, culverts, and storm drains.
• Street Maintenance: Assist in repainting of pavement markings, basic pothole, and street repair; installation and repair of street signs and markers; mixing and application of Class III pesticide materials.
• Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance:  Assist in the care, maintenance and cleaning of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• General:  Contact residents concerning maintenance and service problems; refer complaints and requests to proper supervisory personnel. Assist supervisory personnel in preparing and maintaining proper records and logs. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS

The general knowledge of basic construction methods, materials and terminology, standard hand tools, light equipment, and light vehicles; general knowledge of basic safety precautions and practices necessary in working with hand tools, light equipment, and vehicles; general knowledge of basic methods and practices involved in the care of shrubs, trees and flowers. Ability to learn technically complex construction and maintenance procedures in water systems, streets, parks and building maintenance; use hand and power tools; perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time under inclement weather conditions; work alone or with small groups.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid California driver's license and ability to maintain a satisfactory driving history.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Completion of high school or its equivalent, or completion of a trade or vocational school.  Some directly related experience is desirable.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Monthly Salary: $4,855 to $6,269 per month. Placement within the range will be based upon the selected candidate’s experience and salary history.

DEFINITION

• OPERATOR I (COLLECTION)
  Under general supervision or direction, the Operator I (Collection) is responsible for the overall operation of the wastewater collections system, which includes the repair and maintenance of the sewer collection system and pump stations.
   
• OPERATOR II (COLLECTION)
  Under general direction, supervises the operation of the Collections System of the Wastewater Treatment Plant on a designated shift to ensure processing and discharge of wastewater which complies with performance standards of State regulatory agencies; perform any combination of tasks involved with inspection, construction, repair, and preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance of sanitary personnel; prepares logs and other records; performs maintenance tasks as required and other related duties as required.
   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS

For the Collections System, ability to locate, detect cause, and correct sewer stoppages; detect and perform minor repairs and adjustments to sewer equipment; maintain pumps and related mechanical equipment; and report to work at any time during an emergency.  Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, maintenance work and modification to equipment used in a water quality control plant; use various mechanic’s tools with skill and accuracy; available for standby on sewer calls on a rotation basis; follow oral and written directions; maintain working relationships with other employees.  (See Physical Demands section as it relates to Essential Function Requirements.)

  • Keep daily logs and records on equipment; makes reports to the supervisor

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent based on courses taken from an accredited education institution.  Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, AND
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a variety of building construction work or as a licensed general contractor.  A college degree in a construction-related subject or building inspection program may substitute for one year of the experience, AND
• At least two (2) years must be in an inspection capacity equivalent to a Building Inspector I for a government agency.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS (SPECIAL REQUIREMENT):

• Ability to obtain a California driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record; AND ONE of the following:

Building Inspector I:

• Must hold or obtain within one-year of hire an International Code Council (ICC) B1 Residential Building Inspector or B2 Commercial Building Inspector certification and must maintain certification through the entire term of employment in this job classification. 

Building Inspector II:

• At time of hire/promotion into this classification, must hold an International Code council (ICC) B1 Residential Building Inspector or B2 Commercial Building Inspector certification.  Within one (1) year of hire/promotion into this classification, must obtain one or more of the following ICC certifications:
  • P1 Residential Plumbing Inspector
  • M1 Residential Mechanical Inspector

The City of Sebastopol is seeking an engaging, inclusive, and talented leader who is well-versed in current and long-range planning, affordable housing, and development activities, including economic development. The Community Development Director oversees all functions and activities of the Community Development Department.  The current focus is on planning and economic development activities.  In the future, the position's duties may also include oversight of the City's building, inspection, and code enforcement functions. 

This position coordinates Community Development Department activities with other City departments, officials, contractors, consultants, outside agencies, and the public to ensure cohesive and efficient development and planning processes. The Community Development Director reflects a demonstrative cultural competency in collaborating with all community members regardless of cultural differences or circumstances including race, ethnicity, religion, language, gender identity, age, marital and familial status, sexual orientation, diverse physical and learning abilities, socioeconomic status, and other identities. This position provides highly responsible and complex professional consult to the City Manager to advance the City's planning, housing, economic development, and building and development goals and objectives and may serve as the City Manager or Assistant City Manager in either manager’s absence or as assigned. 

This is an “at will” classification serving at the pleasure of and receiving administrative direction from the City Manager. This role's duties allow for a broad scope of independent decision-making within legal, policy, and regulatory guidelines. It involves exercising general direction and supervision over professional, technical, and administrative support staff.

The Department: 
 The Assistant City Clerk’s Office/City Manager’s Office is recruiting to fill a Deputy City Clerk. The Assistant City Clerk’s Office is organized under the City Clerk’s Office.  The Office of the Assistant City Clerk processes the agendas for and attends all meetings of the Council and Authorities Concurrent and Stadium Authority meetings, maintains accurate and up-to-date records of the proceedings of those meetings and makes those records open for public inspection. The Office of the Assistant City Clerk processes and maintains copies of City contracts, ordinances, resolutions and other official documents. The Office of the Assistant City Clerk manages and compiles City records in accordance with the Records Retention Schedule and in response to Public Records Act requests. The Office of the Assistant City Clerk administers campaign and disclosure laws, the Campaign Finance Ordinance, Regulation of Lobbying Activities program and the Calendars of Certain City Officials program. The Office of the Assistant City Clerk also administers oaths of affirmation pertaining to the affairs and business of the City and certifies copies of official records.
 
 The Position: 
 The Deputy City Clerk will report to the Assistant City Clerk and perform highly complex administrative and analytical work. This position will assist the Assistant City Clerk in the administration of the City Clerk's Office. The incumbent will assist in developing, implementing and coordinating projects, programs and procedures. This position is responsible for assisting with Public Record Act (PRA) requests and this position will also support projects and programs within the City Manager’s Office. Incumbents in this position will have considerable independence in making judgment related to their assignments and must handle situations with great sensitivity, tact and diplomacy. May supervise or act as lead worker to staff involved in management activities.  
 
As a member of the City's unclassified service, this is an "at-will" position. The incumbent serves at the discretion of the City Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any education or experience equivalent to:

• An Associate of Arts degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field; and
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory or lead administrative/management experience in a City Clerk's Office. 

Desirable Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or possession of a Certified Municipal Clerk certification or required within two (2) years of hire.

LICENSE
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment and for duration of employment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job assignment.
