Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is the Bay Area's newest transit system. We are seeking a Marketing and Communications professional with strong attention to detail, graphic design skills, and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. The Community Outreach Coordinator, under the supervision of the Communications and Marketing Manager, provides support for all of SMART’s public outreach, marketing and communications programs. The Community Outreach and Marketing Coordinator will assist with creating and implementing programs to increase awareness of SMART including: the development and implementation of effective social media and digital programs; assisting the Communications and Marketing Manager on marketing programs and materials; developing high-quality content for both online and printed materials; coordinating multiple projects and events; and other associated tasks. Under general supervision, the Vehicle Maintenance Technician position performs skilled preventative, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, primary and secondary repair and modification to mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and components found on commuter rail diesel multiple unit (DMU) vehicles and supporting systems.

This is a journey level classification performing skilled preventive maintenance, scheduled, unscheduled and emergency repair and modification on all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components for the District's revenue vehicles, including related subsystems and components as required by manufacturer maintenance and servicing manuals, Federal and State regulations for locomotive and passenger car maintenance and inspection and District vehicle maintenance procedures.

Inspects, troubleshoots, adjusts and repairs DMU subsystems.

Per Federal Railroad Administration regulations, performs maintenance tasks as specified and scheduled in SMART's DMU inspection, testing and maintenance plan including: daily passenger car/locomotive brake tests; periodic brake equipment maintenance; periodic carborne signaling tests; and passenger car fire safety and on-board emergency equipment and emergency exits inspection, testing and maintenance.

Assures quality control using SMART's Maintenance Management Information System to maintain proper records and generate reports.

Follow FRA regulations applicable to railroad workers.

This position will be responsible for work activities primarily on the Swing and Grave shifts, weekends, and holidays to ensure safe and efficient transportation to the public.

 Position Details:

• Base hourly wage: $44.98 per hour.

The Department

The Recreation and Community Services Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a vehicle maintenance operation in a commuter rail environment. This position will provide hands on supervision of the vehicle maintenance technician staff and will be responsible for work activities primarily on the Swing and Grave shifts, weekends, and holidays to ensure safe and efficient transportation to the public.

The SMART District is seeking a MAXIMO specialist (Railroad Information Systems Specialist) to join our Operations team! The Railroad Information Systems Specialist is responsible for all activities in support of the Operations Department Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS), MAXIMO, as well as computer systems support for the Operations Department. The Specialist works with Operations Department management to align MMIS and Operations technology solutions with business strategies. This position ensures that the MAXIMO system and all other Operations Department IT systems are working properly at all times and that all department work flows meet system requirements. This position carries two overall fields of responsibility. The first is administration of the Maintenance Management Information System (MAXIMO) and the second is providing IT support of all Operations Department systems.

As Assistant Engineer for Rail Systems you will act as an assistant to the Manager of Train Control Systems by participating in the design, construction and implementation of a variety of systems engineering projects related to train control, grade crossing warning systems and networking. This extra help, non-benefitted position works on-call driving a delivery truck to pick up and deliver library materials at various library branches throughout Sonoma County.

SCHEDULE:

Under direct supervision, provides excellent customer service, drives a library vehicle to deliver library materials and supplies to Library branches; loads and unloads book carts and crates; carries out sorting and distribution activities; collects, transports, and delivers financial deposits and receipts; makes assessments of vehicle safety and operability; and performs related work as required. 

Receives direct supervision from the Division Manager, Materials Management or an assigned supervisor.  Exercises no supervision of staff. 

This is a support position that operates a vehicle to deliver materials throughout the library system.  Responsibilities include transporting library books and materials, sorting, and minor vehicle maintenance and upkeep.  Incumbents assigned to this classification also collect and deliver financial items such as cash deposits and receipts.  Incumbents perform most of their duties by themselves, adhering to a specified delivery schedule.  Incumbents follow prescribed procedures and guidelines in the organization and preparation of deliveries.  Assigned tasks do not include direct patron interaction.  Incumbents in this classification primarily perform routine and repetitive tasks and assignments are generally limited in scope.  Independent decisions include whether to modify the order of activities for speed and efficiency.  This is a stand-alone class.
