• Salary range: $22.86 to $29.20 hourly with Excellent Benefits.

                           MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training:

Experience:

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Class A driver license within one year (Landscape or Streets) of employment.
• Some positions may require possession of, or ability to obtain, an Electrical Hazards Awareness certificate within one year of employment.

City of Sunnyvale is recruiting a Facility Attendant II to provide essential facility support for Library and Recreation facilities, e.g. Lakewood Branch Library, Community Center (Recreation, Senior Center and Theater). This position independently prepares and maintains facilities, performs light maintenance, monitors use, and ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and the public. The Facility Attendant II also serves as on-site contact during evenings and weekends, assisting customers and part-time or contract staff. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and supporting community spaces and programs.

The full-time Facility Attendant assigned to Recreation Services will work a Sunday through Thursday on a flex schedule, with adjusting hours depending on rentals, division events and programs.  The part-time Facility Attendant assigned to Library Services will work a schedule to-be-determined, including some evening and weekend shifts depending on events and programming at the new Lakewood Branch Library.

POSITION
To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Public Works Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The Ideal Candidate will be able to troubleshoot a wide variety of building systems and think outside the box to find solutions that get the problem fixed right the first time.  The candidate must be customer-friendly and be a solutions-oriented professional who is flexible in dealing with shifting priorities.   Successful candidate will also be able to respond to after-hours emergencies on short notice and demonstrate the ability to work independently.  Project management, plumbing, and HVAC skills are highly desirable. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain and repair City facilities, equipment, and building by performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and mechanical repair work.  Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance and custodial needs; research and recommend effective solutions to maintenance and repair needs of the City.  Inspect, determine, and perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on assigned facilities and equipment.  Assign routine and special tasks to subordinates; coordinates the work of contractors and other assigned staff with other City employees and contractors.  Work cooperatively with others.  Regular and consistent attendance. 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Operate a variety of equipment including power saws, power sanders, drills, paint sprayers, plumbing snakes and rodders, routers and grinders.  Operate, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical equipment such as generators, engines and sump pumps.  Determine quantity and types of supplies, materials, tools and equipment needed for maintenance programs and projects; arrange for purchase and procurement of same; assure that maintenance equipment and tools are kept in good working order.  Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, drawings and blueprints.  Assist in the research and implementation of department policies and procedures.  Maintain time, material and equipment use records.  Troubleshoot, maintain and repair the City’s lock system.  Perform work in emergency situations.  Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  Two (2) years of experience performing duties comparable to those of a Facility Maintenance Worker II.

License and Certificate:  Required upon hire, possession of valid California Driver's License.  Building Operator Certification is desired.

About the Position:  The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing all aspects of facilities maintenance for Midpen’s Administrative Office, including building operations, vehicle fleet inspections, landscaped grounds, parking areas, and various physical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, painting, assembly, construction, electrical, data cabling, and security systems.  This unique position has a foundation in older residential property improvements in a rural setting, including spring systems, old style construction including log framing, historic farm building construction, multiple materials and additions to the buildings are all aspects and considerations for repairs and tenant improvements. This position is also responsible for non-routine repairs and improvements at Midpen’s field properties and performs preventative maintenance tasks, repairs, and minor improvement projects. Successful performance in this role requires broad  knowledge of facility maintenance trades and technical principles, as well as a professional background and the ability to effectively collaborate  with other Midpen departments. Work Environment:  This position is part of the  Facilities & Fleet Department and will be required to work onsite Monday through Friday on a 9/80 schedule.  Work will be performed at Midpen’s administrative office in Los Altos, field facilities, and also at residential properties located primarily in the field. May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, be called back after hours and on weekends or respond to and perform work in emergency situations as required.  When conducting field assignments, work may include traversing rough, difficult terrain in inclement or hot weather with exposure to poison oak, wildlife and rodent inhabitants.  Duties will include building and facility work that will require climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.  Ideal candidates will be comfortable working in these types of conditions, as well as in an office environment. Education and Experience: 

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by college-level coursework in facilities management, construction project management or a related field or training in applicable trades, and
• Three (3) years of experience in construction, maintenance, and/or repair of buildings, structures and/or related facilities.

Completion of an apprenticeship program or the equivalent training in one or more of the construction trades is highly desirable.

Licenses & Certifications Required:   Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

DESCRIPTION

The City of Thousand Oaks has an excellent opportunity for a Landscape Maintenance Worker I/II in the Public Works department.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform skilled work in the pruning, care, and maintenance of trees and grounds maintenance, including chemical application duties
• Perform heavy manual labor in the care and maintenance of trees and in performing grounds maintenance
• Install, repair, and program irrigation systems and controllers
• Perform graffiti removal
• Perform routine and emergency work from an aerial lift bucket
• Assist in overseeing the work of contractors
• Assist with encampment and abandoned property clean-up efforts (e.g. supporting police personnel in non-enforcement and enforcement situations, or contracted services by posting, documenting, collecting, storing and/or disposing of private property or debris)

THE POSITION:

Under the general supervision of the Community Services Manager, the Clinical Supervisor supports with the development and achievement of Youth and Family Services goals and objectives. The Clinical Supervisor provides both clinical and administrative leadership within the Youth and Family Services Division. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the supervision of staff in planning, organizing, delivering, and reporting clinical, case management, and support services for youth, families, and adults, including the coordination of crisis and counseling intervention services. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor provides technical and clinical expertise, guidance, and supervision to a multidisciplinary treatment team and the clinical intern program.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:

This classification is a mid-management, journey-level role with first-line supervisory responsibilities, which includes overseeing, coordinating, and leading the planning, assignment, delivery, and evaluation of clinical programs and services, as well as the work of assigned clinical and non-clinical staff and interns. This role requires considerable initiative and independent judgment in developing procedures and standards, as well as in managing the provision of both clinical and non-clinical programs and services.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (illustrative only):

• Provides highly responsible direct programmatic and administrative support to the Community Services Manager, overseeing the planning, organization, and coordination of services provided by Youth and Family Services, including but not limited to overseeing counseling, case management, mentoring services, and grant funded programming.
• Develops program policies and procedures, implementing consistent standards and practices in clinical operations and addressing changing client and organizational needs.
• Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of a multidisciplinary team, including clinical staff.
• Works with the Community Services Program Manager and staff to develop, track, and compile clinical program data and statistics; prepares local, state, and federal grant proposals, curricula, and reports for youth and family programs and services.
• Provides clinical expertise and consultation to clinical and direct service staff, interns, partner organizations, and police officers, as needed.
• Provides training to the multidisciplinary team regarding clinical interventions and documentation and program standards.
• Administers the clinical intern program; actively participates in intern recruitment, placement, training, supervision, and completion of all documentation required by educational institutions.
• Coordinates and tracks referrals from partner agencies and service providers; conducts intakes to determine appropriate level of care and staff assignments.
• Provides group and individual counseling to youth and adults, providing family therapy when appropriate, including crisis assessment and intervention; completes assessments and treatment plans and implements appropriate intervention and support services.
• Implements Quality Assurance protocols to ensure documentation meets the funding requirements. Develops and provides documentation training materials and implements staff training.
• Reviews documentation for completeness and accuracy, using findings to monitor and improve services, ensuring client safety, legal compliance, and quality of care.
• Ensures that staff remains current in the professional, legal and ethical standards of the profession; provides training and workshops as necessary for clinical and case management staff and interns.
• Develops and fosters relationships with cross-sector of stakeholders, including but not limited to; schools, Union City Police Departments, families, community-based organizations, etc. This includes preparing and facilitating meetings, trainings, workshops, and presentations.
• Coordinates and responds to Union City Police Department to provide urgent clinical and case management support to community members.
