The Position:

The City of Santa Clara is seeking an experienced, energetic, and collaborative leader to serve as its next Senior Inspector supporting the daily operations of the Building Division. This critical role provides both technical expertise and supervisory leadership to ensure the City’s high standards for safety, service, and professionalism are consistently met.

The Senior Inspector is a supervisory-level classification responsible for performing the most complex building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections, while also providing guidance, coordination, and training for less experienced inspectors and support staff. Depending on expertise, incumbents may be assigned to one or more specialty areas, including Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Permit Center, or Code Enforcement. Experience in MEP plan review is highly desirable and may be used to fill one of the two openings. 

This position requires an individual who can operate as a subject-matter expert and exercise sound, independent judgment in daily operations. The role is distinguished from the Inspection Manager classification, which carries broader responsibility for division-wide planning, field operations, and strategic technology initiatives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education Requirements: 

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in building inspection with a city and/or county agency.

Desirable Qualifications

• Depending on position assignment, the required experience and certification may be required in a particular specialty such as building inspection, electrical inspection, or plumbing and mechanical inspection.
• MEP plan review experience.  
• Certified Access Specialist (CASp) certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience that includes supervising building inspectors.

Licenses/Certificates
 The following are required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment:

• A valid California Class C driver's license.
• Certification as a Building Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Mechanical Inspector, or Combination Inspector by the International Code Council (ICC) or International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), or equivalent.

Other Requirements

• Required to file a Conflict of Interest statement upon assuming office, annually and upon leaving office, in accordance with City Manager's Directive 100.
• May be required to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job assignment.

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Manager – Senior Services is responsible for leading the operations, programs, services, and community engagement efforts that support Redwood City’s older adult population. This position oversees a broad range of senior services, including recreation programming, wellness initiatives, social services coordination, special events, facility operations, partnerships, and community outreach, while helping ensure the City’s brand new 45,000 square foot senior center continues to be a welcoming, active, inclusive, and responsive community space.

This role provides leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of senior services programs and facilities, including staff supervision, budget administration, program development, strategic planning, contract management, and customer service delivery. The Manager works collaboratively across City departments and with community organizations, regional agencies, volunteers, and service providers to support programs and services that enhance quality of life, social connection, health, and lifelong learning opportunities for older adults.

The Department:

The Community Development Department consists of three divisions: Planning, Building, and Housing and Community Services. The Department guides the ongoing physical development of the community, which includes long range land use planning, review of new development proposals and construction to ensure that it conforms to the standards of the City and State and ensures the provision of affordable housing with the City of Santa Clara. The delivery of high-quality professional services, including the enhancement and streamlining of the development permit process, and forging partnerships to provide housing services to lower income members of the community, are primary objectives of the Department. The Department acts as an advisor to the City’s decision-makers in these areas and carries out the policies of the City Council. 

The Department demands for quality communications continues to increase, especially as the list of high visibility development projects grows in Santa Clara. The department is seeking a dedicated Communications Coordinator to handle outreach and engagement efforts and be a liaison to the City’s Communications Team.

The Position: 

The incumbent provides high-level public information and community outreach services that require in-depth knowledge of public sector communications, website content and graphic design, and experience in managing and implementing creative and innovative promotions and projects.

This role is essential to centralizing the department’s communication efforts and ensuring that both internal and public-facing messages are strategic, consistent, and impactful.
 
The Communications Coordinator will be housed in the Technology and Communications Team and will be supervised by the Assistant Director. The Communications Coordinator will work across all divisions and will not only help streamline communications related to key initiatives and projects but also serve as an internal consultant, helping staff develop clear, effective messaging across all channels. This will enable the department to better meet increasing demands from the City Manager’s Office for improved web content, newsletters, and outreach efforts, while also promoting the department’s key initiatives and projects to a broader audience.

Under general direction, the Communications Coordinator coordinates and maintains content on the Department's website and intranet; implements and supports internal and external communication efforts; and coordinates social media and video communication activities. Incumbents may function as a supervisor, or an individual contributor, depending on the department or assignment.

• Experience working in the public sector communications, press releases, social media platforms, website and graphic design, and analytics research is desirable.

• Experience in managing and implementing creative promotions and projects is desirable.

THE JOB

Instruct children and young adults (primarily 5-14 years of age) in beginning to intermediate tennis camp. Class content should provide basic and/or more advanced game mechanics, strategies, and the rules of tennis, depending on the student level of the skill. Class must emphasize the importance of good sportsmanship and team play. The goal is to have fun and develop a skill.

Schedule: Camp will run from June 8th through June 18th.

Group A (5-7yrs) 9:00AM to 9:45AM

Group B (8-10yrs) 10AM to 10:45AM

Group C (11yrs+) 11AM to 11:45AM

Location: LOHS Tennis Courts  

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

• To provide, organization, leading, and instructing individuals and groups in sports programs.
• Provides encouragement to participants and provides a positive atmosphere for play.
• Supervise and implement safe practices as it relates to participants, programs, and facilities. 
• Implement lesson plans to be provided by the City.
• Maintains rosters and City forms.
• Advises participants on game and facility procedures and policies, as appropriate.
• Develop and lead daily tennis specific drill and game components.
• Reports accidents and prepares accident reports as required.
• Communicate effectively with children, other coaches/referees, parents, and community members.
• Sets up equipment and ensures its return in serviceable condition.
• Maintain program areas by cleaning up after activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Parks and Recreation Director.
• Make recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Director regarding program enhancement and any concerns regarding operations.

Part-time position: This position will be in the Grounds unit. Anticipated 3 days per week, up to 27 hours (may include weekend hours)

Summary:

Employees receive moderate supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures and may be assigned to work in different areas throughout the District, including grounds, custodial and open space.

Must be available to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays. Positions are part-time and schedules are made based on the needs of the assigned units of Grounds, Maintenance or Park Rangers.

• Prepare open space, athletic fields or recreational spaces for public use

Must be at least 18 years old

Education and Experience:

Language Ability:
