About the Roles

The duties of the Maintenance Workers include, but are not limited to,

• Inspects and/or repairs equipment at frequent intervals to ensure that all aspects of the equipment are safe and functioning safely.

• Maintains a variety of records relating to inspections, maintenance activity, materials supply, consumption, etc.
• Determines and marks the locations of system wirings and stormwater and water lines from the appropriate sources prior to excavation.
• Responds to complaints regarding functional areas; evaluates situation; explains findings to supervisor. Functional areas for Public Works include street conditions, street signs, storm water system problems, traffic signals and street lighting.  Functional areas for Community Services include tree conditions, ball field conditions, irrigation system problems, park, building and ball field lighting.
• Ensures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking equipment and tools after use.
• Safely operates vehicles of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, and other job functions. For Public Works, this includes gravel, sand, concrete, asphalt and base rock.  For Community Services, this includes soil and sand and performing tree work.
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor; cleans equipment.
• Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
• Performs required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew.  For Public Works, this includes pavement cutting, ditch digging, manhole and line cleaning, main and pipe repair, laying pipe, trenching and backfilling.  For Community Services, this includes laying pipe, trenching and backfilling, maintaining ball fields including original layouts such as installation and leveling of surfaces; base positioning and installation; and layout of all field markings.

• Performs other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications

Maintenance Worker I:
Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent.

Maintenance Worker II:
Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent, and a minimum of two (2) years street, stormwater or parks maintenance work experience.

Valid California driver’s license. Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class "B" Commercial Drivers license by completion of probationary period.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is currently $67,660 to $95,526. These are represented positions.

• Remote work is not available for these positions.

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Senior Fiscal Analyst in the State Budget unit of the Budget Services Sacramento office.

The Senior Fiscal Analyst provides advanced, complex, and specialized analytical and technical budget support to the Judicial Council Facilities Services Capital Outlay program. This position provides fiscal oversight for capital outlay projects and manages the ongoing project close-out activities. Fiscal oversight responsibilities include analyzing and preparing statewide budget reports for management, controlling capital outlay appropriations, reviewing and coding requisitions, preparing and reviewing Capital Outlay budget change proposals (COBCPs), reviewing the updated five-year capital outlay plan, and managing the bond sale process. The position conducts monthly fiscal forecasting for each project by appropriation, line item, and category of expense, that are completed three times a year for every project. The position is also responsible for ensuring project compliance with appropriation availability periods, recommends reappropriations when needed, forecasts cash flow to ensure cash flow loans remain sufficient and advises Facilities Services staff on project scope, cost, and budget changes during the bi-monthly budget meetings with Facilities Services management.

This position prepares and review materials required by the State Public Works Board and the Department of Finance for the ongoing phases of Capital Outlay projects, including memos, fiscal displays, and agenda items. These package submissions are done approximately eight times annually. The role also updates and escalates project costs for Executive staff to support accurate advocacy for project funding. In addition, the position manages the twice-yearly bond sales process, a 3.5 month cycle involving extensive preparation, detailed bond document review, meeting participation, and coordination with the Judicial Council Facilities Program, Department of Finance, the State Treasurer’s Office, Judicial Council Legal services, and the tenant courts. The position also prepares and reviews budget documents and fiscal displays containing Capital Outlay budget data for inclusion in the budget galley, published three times per year, and provides backup support to other areas within the State Budget Unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Summary
Under general supervision, performs technical paraprofessional accounting duties including payroll processing and accounts receivables and payables for Conejo Recreation & Park District (CRPD) and Mountain Recreation & Conservation Authority (MRCA); prepares accounting records and journal entries as necessary; generates reports and reconciles data; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Compiles timesheets from District and MRCA employees, inputs payroll data into payroll system, prints proof list and verifies hours; corrects errors in time reporting; processes payroll and allocates payroll costs to budget appropriation accounts.
• Calculates and prepares payment for a variety of taxes including sales tax, payroll taxes and income withholdings; assists with issuance of employee, contractor and vendor tax statements.
• Processes routine and special check runs; validates accuracy of coding and payments and prepares checks for mailing or distribution.
• Prepares direct deposit, warrants and wire transfer information for approval and transmittal to the bank before established deadlines; prepares bank deposits.
• Maintains independent contractor and vendor records and databases including contracts, payment and ACH information.
• Assists with generating financial reports, spreadsheets and records; maintains purchase order file and records expenses; scans and files data and documents in accordance with District and MRCA records management policies and procedures.
• Gathers statement backup and reconciles Cal-Card statements; processes approved payments.
• Researches and answers District and MRCA employee and department inquiries regarding payroll, reimbursements and general status inquiries.  

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides backup to divisional administrative staff.
• Assists in research and preparation of data for payroll and financial audits and special reports requested by auditors, MRCA administrators, and other public agencies.
• May be required to drive District or personal vehicle.
• Participates during disasters or when emergency response is needed.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to analyze and reconcile fiscal recording, banking and payroll records. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written or oral form.

Certificates and Licenses:

DEFINITION

Performs a variety of advanced technical and specialized accounting duties in the preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounting records and financial transactions. Analyzes accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined by federal, local, and state regulations as well as the Finance department. Trains and provides technical advice to lower-level accounting personnel, and performs related work as required. Receives direction from the Finance Director/Treasurer. May exercise supervision over additional professional, technical and/or support staff as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Prepare and maintain payroll function for the Town; manage records for employee deductions; create reports and arrange payments to various taxing and financial organizations; and interpret and implement guidelines provided by other agencies related to payroll and deductions.
• Prepare quarterly and yearly payroll reports for federal and state agencies; responsible for capital asset accounting and reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
• Makes wire transfers and journal funding transfers and reconciles monthly bank statements.
• Respond to inquiries from Town employees and vendors (if necessary) and explain processes and systems; compose correspondence as necessary.
• Review entries made to various financial records for proper coding and maintenance of appropriate accounting procedures; review cash receipts, business license, and accounts payable entries; prepare monthly health benefit and retirement benefit payments.
• Monitor and maintain Capital Improvement Program projects and grant activities; ensure compliance with stipulations and reporting requirements, and confirm data is recorded in the Town’s financial accounting system.
• Assists with the fiscal year-end close and fixed asset accounting, including prepare audit schedule.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• Accepted principles, techniques, and practices of governmental accounting, fund, accounting, auditing, and fiscal management.

Experience:

Four (4) years of experience performing standard accounting duties.

Education:

Education equivalent to a high school diploma and two (2) years of college coursework or training in accounting, business administration, public administration. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is desirable.

Possession of a valid California State Driver's License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire.

Temporary Maintenance Worker – Parks & Roadsides 

Salary: $20.00/hour

DEFINITION 

Perform a variety of general maintenance services for parks and roadsides and other areas as assigned within the Town.   

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position. 
• Flexible schedule up to 29 hours per week, which may include weekend work; not to exceed 950 hours per calendar year. 
• The schedule for this position would be Monday-Thursday. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED 

General supervision is received from the Maintenance Supervisor. May exercise supervision of Work Alternative Program participants as assigned. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES 

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:  

• Clean up trash in and around Town-maintained park and roadside areas. 
• Operate a variety of equipment, including: half ton and three-quarter ton trucks, Cushman and golf cart (or similar) vehicles, blowers and other two-cycle equipment, and hand tools (i.e., shovel, rake, hoe, etc.). 
• Periodically groom sports fields and bocce ball courts with equipment and/or machinery provided. 
• Prepare baseball fields and bocce ball courts for league play. 
• Assist Maintenance Services personnel on assigned projects.  

• Perform duties within OSHA standards. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Knowledge of: 

• Construction and maintenance materials, methods, and terminology. 

• The use, purposes and maintenance of hand tools; and the operation of light and moderately heavy power-driven equipment in performing duties. 

Ability to: 

• Understand and follow oral and written directions. 
• Ability to work both in a supervised and unsupervised environment. 
• Perform manual labor for extended periods of time; and operate under tight deadlines. 
• Lift equipment and materials up to 50 lbs. 
• Work flexible hours.

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT I

Finance Department

Salary steps—Steps F, G, and H, within the range listed above—are available after 5, 10, and 15 years of service, with one year at the prior step and a satisfactory performance evaluation. ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Gilroy is recruiting for a full-time Accounting Assistant I in the Finance Department. This position will primarily be assigned to the Utility Billing/Information Desk area, providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers, and performing cashiering and accounting-related work. The Finance Department’s goal is to provide timely and accurate financial information to City Management, City Council, and the public, while responsibly managing the City’s assets, including cash and investments.

Under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager or Supervising Accounting Technician, the Accounting Assistant will perform a wide variety of accounting and statistical record-keeping assignments related to maintaining financial and statistical records. This position may provide support in one or more of the following areas: accounts receivable, accounts payable, utility billing, and/or the front information desk.

The City of Pacifica's Public Works Department is recruiting for a Building Maintenance Specialist. This is a full-time position with benefits and a compensation schedule range of $6529- $7,755 per month. This position works a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. This position is included in a bargaining unit under Teamsters MISC Local No. 856.

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, to perform skilled carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work involving rough and finished construction, installation, and repair work

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the skilled level class in the building maintenance series.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receive general supervision from higher-level staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Operates woodworking machinery such as sanders, planers, and power saws in the construction of cabinets, shelves, stairways, and other wooden articles or structures;
• Hangs doors and installs wooden sashes;
• Lays finished flooring;
• Instels, remodels, repairs and maintains electric, HVAC, wiring and plumbing systems, furniture, roofs, and other general repairds to buildings;
• Installs wall board;
• Prepares walls for plastering and refinishing;
• Maintains and services carpentry equipment and tools;
• Repairs small motors, heaters, boilers, and broken water lines; may do occasional general public works construction and maintenance work.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of

• Materials and methods used in both rough and finished carpentry and most other areas of the construction field;
• Plumbing maintenance, installation, and finishing

Skill/Ability to

• Prepare rough sketches of work and estimates of materials and labor;
• Read blueprints and work according to plans and specifications;
• Carry out oral and written directions;
• Use and operate mechanical tools; ;
• Work with others.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way of qualifying is:

Experience: Two years of progressively responsible experience performing public works building maintenance duties

Substitution: Completion of an accredited apprenticeship in the construction field or may substitute for two years.

Training: Graduation from high school and

LICENSE

Ability to drive and possess a valid California driver’s license.  May be required to qualify for and obtain a Class A or Class B driver’s license and be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under the Department of Transportation regulations. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Physical Skills: Able to sit, stand, walk (on uneven surfaces), kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, and climb; lift and carry 75 pounds; dexterity to drive trucks and large vehicles; distinguish among various colors; distinguish various computer generated auditory signals; use common hand and power tools; vision to read printed materials, a computer screen, and to test equipment in varied field settings; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Working Environment: Work in a shop and field setting; exposure to inclement weather, cold, heat, noise, outdoors, dust, dirt, vibration, chemicals, traffic, traffic hazards, confining workspace, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, and explosive hazards.

May work protracted and irregular hours; take 24-hour call and stand-by; available for evening meetings; available for unusual hours in emergencies.
