What you will do: 
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

Performs specialized and detailed work in the review and processing of various financial records and related materials; ensures the integrity of data and information related to area of assignment which may include cash management, payroll, accounts payable/receivable and consolidated billing.

Analyzes and reconciles a variety of journals, accounts, reports and records; to prepare, process, and maintains accounting system records, and transactions.

Prepares journal entries and general ledger reconciliations and performs month and year-end closing of accounting records; assists with City-wide budget development and monitoring.

Balances financial information system controls; balances and posts financial transactions to ledgers and sub-ledgers and reconciles to the accounting system; and balances various other financial transactions with source documents and controls.

Processes and prepares payrolls; responds to staff regarding payroll related questions; updates employee information in payroll systems.

Maintains subsidiary records of fixed assets and depreciation, and tags all fixed assets.

Assists in the preparation of schedules as required for audits and special requests.

Prepares, compiles, tabulates and maintains data and complex documents; assists with preparing technical financial, statistical and operational reports, statements and records.

Responds to inquiries from the public in person, by telephone, and/or in writing, regarding areas of responsibility and initiates appropriate action to resolve problems.

Researches and answers inquiries from employees and other City departments regarding the status of accounts and payments, including proper transaction coding and related matters.

Builds and maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.

Assists in daily operations providing general clerical support as needed.

Performs related work as necessary.

• Establish and maintain cooperative relations with those contacted during the course of work.

Minimum Qualifications

You have: 
 Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience performing financial/statistical record keeping and accounting/bookkeeping duties. 

Education: Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance or a related field. 

License: Possession and maintenance of a valid Class C California Driver's License.

The Fiscal Analyst I position, performs varied and complex professional accounting and financial analysis work relating to various grants and programs; fiscal and contract management; fiscal program analysis and compliance; prepares analytical, narrative, statistical, accounting and financial reports; develops and monitors budgets; and prepares financial statements and reports and related duties as required. Join San Bruno Community Services, Parks Department as a Lead Maintenance Worker! 

The Community Services Department is committed to providing quality programs, services, and spaces to benefit the health and well-being of the community. Within Community Services, the Parks Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance of all City’s outdoor recreation sites, including 20 parks covering 68 acres, 6 baseball fields, 128 acres of open space, all City owned facilities, over 7 miles of medians, and one dog park. 
 

Under the supervision of the Parks Field Supervisor, the Parks Lead Maintenance Worker performs a variety of skilled tasks and complex assignments in maintenance, repair, and construction work. The Lead Maintenance Worker is a working supervisor position. The position exercises direct supervision over crews engaged in service, maintenance, and repair. Work assignments may also involve considerable skill in various construction and mechanical crafts and the operation of heavy construction and maintenance equipment. 

CORE DUTIES

Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Assigns and reviews work of Maintenance Workers I/II and seasonal staff; trains, supervises, and reviews work of assigned staff; provides input into performance evaluations and performance issues.

• Inspects and repairs equipment at frequent intervals to ensure that all aspects of the systems are safe and functioning properly; maintains a variety of records relating to inspections, maintenance activity, materials supply, athletic field layouts and surfaces, base positioning and installation, and layouts of field markings.

• Determines and marks the locations of irrigation system wiring and water lines from the appropriate sources prior to excavation.

• Responds to complaints and resolves problems regarding functional areas such as tree conditions, ball field conditions irrigation system problems, park, building and ball field lighting, water leaks, parks facility issues.

• Ensures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools assigned to their area of responsibility by checking equipment and tools and maintaining maintenance records, and refers defects to supervisory staff.

• Safely operates vehicles/equipment of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, soil and sand, concrete, performance of tree work; and other job functions; operates pneumatic tools and power tools.

• Oversees and participates in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including laying pipe, trenching and backfilling, determines safety and playability of sports fields and reports information to their supervisor, prunes trees and shrubs in conformance with established professional practices and safe working methods.

• Applies pesticides and utilizes best Integrated Pest Management practices for assigned areas of responsibility.

• Performs set up of traffic safety work zones utilizing traffic safety control devices as needed for work performed in areas such as medians, right-of ways, streets, and parks.

• Performs other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education, experience, and training that would provide the best qualified candidates. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be a high school diploma or GED, and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience performing field maintenance work similar to that of a Maintenance Worker II with the City of San Bruno. 

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

• Possession of a valid California Class B driver’s license. 

• Possession of a Qualified Pesticide Applicators Certificate.

The City of Saratoga is looking for an accounting professional ready for the next step in their career to join our Administrative Services Department team as a full-time Accounting Technician. The Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative accounting duties related to the preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions for the City. Responsibilities include reconciling accounts and ledgers, preparing financial reports, executing batch runs and wire transfers, and maintaining both manual and computerized financial records. To perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current temporary/part-time vacancy in our Community Services Department and to create a list for future vacancies.

The Finance Department is responsible for the overall financial management of the City, including
oversight of the citywide operating budget of $272 million ($175.8 million General Fund) for FY 25-
26 with 550 budgeted FTEs and a capital improvement program budget of $61.5 million. The

The Opportunity
The Deputy Director of Finance assists in planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating the

THE POSITION

To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, signs, water meters, sewers, storm drains, pump stations and tree maintenance.

Typical work schedule will be three 8-hour shifts per week, excluding weekends and evenings.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate for this position should have previous Road Maintenance experience; sidewalks, driveways, roads, curbs, and gutters, although not required. The Ideal Candidate will be able to follow directions, demonstrate good communication skills (orally and in writing), be flexible, arrive on time, have good attendance, a positive attitude, be able to work independently with limited supervision, and a willingness to take on and learn new skills. Possessing a Class B commercial Driver’s license is desired, though not required upon hire.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Operate a variety of light and moderately heavy construction and maintenance equipment including such pieces as a loader, dump truck, water truck, rubber-tired and steel rollers, rubber-tired tractor with all attachments (except backhoe attachment), striping equipment, and trencher to perform a variety of routine construction and maintenance operations.  Spread asphalt in patching and repairing streets.  Use concrete cutting equipment; operate a jackhammer; pour and finish concrete; construct concrete forms and perform rough carpentry work.  Paint and install traffic markings on streets, crosswalks, parking lots, and curbs; operate a striping truck; manufacture and install traffic signs and remove signs no longer required.  Install and remove traffic control barricades and cones.  Assist in a variety of tree maintenance activities including low limb, stump routing, tree watering, and tree planting.  Utilize proper safety precautions and comply with policies and procedures in the Department Illness and Injury Prevention Program.  Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates.  Regular and consistent attendance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Respond to inquiries from the general public.  Clean storm grates and drains.  Perform work in emergency situations as required.  Perform minor and preventive maintenance on paint spraying equipment, compressors, sprayers, compactors, and other construction equipment.  Work cooperatively with others.  Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.  

Experience: One (1) year of work experience in construction or related field.  

License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License required upon hire.
