The Dixon Fire Department offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for volunteer applicants pursuing a career in fire safety. Volunteer Firefighters are responsible for a wide variety of fire services including: emergency medical aid, emergency rescue and all other suppression and prevention activities in protecting life and property.
Employment Processing: Along with a job related assessment process, those selected may be subject to a medical exam including drug screen, fingerprinting through the California Department of Justice and a background investigation; and in accordance with Federal law, are able to provide proof of identity and proof that they may legally work in the United States. It is the policy of the City of Dixon to practice fair and equal employment under the law.
