                             MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to lead complex CIP engineering projects involving planning, design, construction, and inspection of major water infrastructure projects.

• Salary range: $32.59 - $41.56 + Excellent Benefits
• Salary Increases:
  • 3% Cost of Living adjustment increase effective 7/13/26
  • 3% Cost of Living adjustment increase effective 7/12/27
    • Salary placement is generally at the beginning of the range.
    • Advanced placement may be considered based on related education and experience.
    • NOTE: The City recently completed a compensation study comparing its salary ranges with those of other local agencies. As a result, 87% of salary ranges will be adjusted upward at various intervals. As ranges are adjusted, job postings will be updated to reflect these changes.

                                MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

                                     IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and abilities:

• Strong knowledge of landscape construction, irrigation systems, and plant health
• A strong attention to detail with the ability to identify landscape‑related issues early in the field, such as irrigation problems, plant health concerns, safety hazards, or non‑compliance with plans and specifications.
• Experience in interpreting landscape plans, specifications, and technical drawings
• Excellent communication skills for working with contractors, staff, and the public
• Experience in evaluating plant and turf conditions and recommending corrective actions
• Ability to enforce landscape standards — including irrigation requirements, planting specifications, soil preparation, and maintenance expectations — with professionalism and tact.
• Experience working out in the elements in a fast-paced, project-focused environment
