The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) Ranger is a challenging generalist position offering a wide variety of responsibilities and opportunities to exercise independent judgment while working on Midpen preserves. Rangers patrol on foot, in all-terrain vehicles, on motorcycles, and in four-wheel drive patrol trucks. Rangers ensure safe public use of preserves and provide visitors information while enforcing District land use regulations and applicable laws. Rangers also respond to emergency calls including medical aid and wildland fires.

San Mateo County Parks system consists of 22 parks, historic sites, and regional trails. The properties have a wide variety of habitats, species, and visitor use.
The Natural Resource Management Program is focused on protecting and enhancing all natural resources within the park system. This includes habitat restoration, vegetation and invasive species management, native and invasive species mapping, wildlife monitoring, and volunteer stewardship activities.
Volunteer Youth Basketball Coach (19923800)
The City of San Dimas Parks and Recreation Department offers a basketball league for youth ages 8-14 that emphasizes teaching fundamentals, sportsmanship, teamwork and fun. The program runs from December until March. Coaches must be available for practices two days per week scheduled between the hours of 2:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and games Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (all times approximate). Additional hours for trainings and meetings as assigned.

Under direction this person instructs fitness classes at the San Dimas Recreation Center in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment. Instructor will promote wellness and create appropriate and challenging workouts for participants at the appropriate and safe level. They will instruct participants about exercise activities that improve strength, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility. They demonstrate correct movements and technique, while offering tips on improving form to maintain or improve physical fitness.
