The City of Marysville seeks a multi-tasking, collaborative team player to work in a fast-paced environment which requires juggling a variety of duties and assignments, while supporting the Administration and Finance Department.  Specifically, tasks will include:

• Prepares and processes necessary forms for new hires, workers compensation claims; conducts interviews to obtain information for personnel processing and assists in completing forms; orients new employees.
• Prepares payroll documents for employees and benefit changes; acts a liaison between employees, insurance carriers or retirement system to solve problems and answer questions; refers employees to the proper source for information.

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking an effective and skilled communicator, and highly motivated problem solver for the position of Principal Transportation Engineer/Planner.  This management position reports directly to the Transportation and Traffic Manager in the Public Works Department and will be responsible for:  assisting with planning, organizing and coordinating the activities of the Division of Transportation and Traffic; and perform professional traffic engineering, transportation planning, designing, and project management.

This position will supervise a small team within the Division to accomplish specific tasks and high-level, community-oriented projects. Current projects include: East Channel Trail study; Mary Avenue Overcrossing over highways 101 and 237; Bernardo Avenue railroad undercrossing; Sunnyvale Avenue and Mary Avenue railroad grade separations, liaison with the County for the Lawrence Grade Separation project; and coordinating with VTA as part of the delivering Measure B transportation projects. The position will manage multiple consultant contracts and will be expected to coordinate and work closely with other staff within the Division and with staff within other departments such as Public Works, Community Development, Environmental Services, and Public Safety, and represent the City with outside agencies such as the Valley Transportation Authority, Caltrain, High Speed Rail, Caltrans, MTC, County of Santa Clara, and adjacent cities.

The position will focus on advancing the projects mentioned above, assist with oversight of the design and traffic signal operations, implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS); assist with the coordination of Division of Transportation and Traffic activities with other divisions and departments; oversee and assist with oversight of the grant application preparation, reporting, and management for transportation projects; assist with planning and coordinating division workload and budgets; creating and sustaining cooperative and collaborative working relationships across the City, with the development community, and residents; attend and present at public meetings/City Commissions; and provide assistance with highly complex traffic engineering work. The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for Employee Relations Manager in the Human Resources Department! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to manage essential programs in employee and labor relations, workers' compensation, safety, and benefits. In addition to supervising a team of up to ten professional and technical staff, day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting and implementing labor contract language, representing the City with its bargaining groups, and resolving employee relations issues.

The City currently maintains agreements with eight bargaining units representing over 1000 employees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Education
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college with major course work in business or public administration, industrial relations, or a closely related field.

Experience
Four years of progressively responsible experience in public personnel administration and management and labor relations, including one year in a lead, supervising, or management capacity. Experience in a municipal public agency setting is desirable. Additional professional-level experience as outlined above may be substituted for the college education on a year-for-year basis.

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements
Must be willing to work such hours as are necessary to accomplish the job requirements. Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. The Human Resources Department is seeking well qualified candidates for the position of HRIM Departmental Systems Analyst.

The Departmental Systems Analyst (DSA) will provide complex analytical support for the adaptation of and enhancement to Workday, the County’s incorporated human resources information system.  There is currently one vacancy in the HRIM division of the Human Resources Department.

In general, the DSA will provide analytical and technical expertise to support the configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Compensation, and Talent modules. The role serves as a key link between HR program areas, departmental users, and technical teams to ensure system functionality and data integrity and to ensure business processes effectively support departmental and organizational needs. 

The DSA will also: 

• Configure, maintain, and process negotiated compensation and classification changes such as cost-of-living adjustments, equity increases, and legislative updates within Workday.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

• Three years of responsible experience in a position that would provide knowledge of department-specific programs, processes, and/or operations, including at least one year of experience in planning, implementation, oversight, and/or utilization of automated information systems and applications used to support departmental activities.

Knowledge of:
