Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance and repair work involving carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, minor plumbing, ceiling tiles, lighting, doors, locks, roofing repairs, and related facility maintenance tasks. 
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools, ladders, air compressors, painting equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, and trucks while following established safety procedures and work practices. 
• Support workplace operations and facility space needs, including office furniture moves, modular office reconfigurations, installation of suspended ceilings, construction of interior walls, and setup of new workspaces. 
• Assist with onsite and offsite event setup and teardown, including tables, chairs, podiums, canopies, and transport equipment. 
• Estimate materials, supplies, and equipment needed for assigned work and assist with ordering materials and maintaining operational readiness. 
• Support facility safety, accessibility, and functionality through preventative maintenance and responsive repair services. 
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Ideal Experience:

Required License or Certificate

Facilities Management Unit (Position Code 751) 
Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical skills, certifications, experience, and professional attributes suited to complete a full range of journey level mechanic work by performing preventative maintenance, repair and overhaul of gasoline, diesel, alternative fuel, hybrid and electric, heavy duty vehicles and equipment that includes but not limited to fire engines and pump systems, fire trucks including large trailer aerial ladder trucks, gang mowers, aerial work platforms, and construction equipment such as loaders, graders, dump trucks, back hoes, asphalt trucks, trailers, rollers, street sweepers, air compressors, and off road equipment.

The Department

The mission of the Maintenance Operations Department is to enhance the community by providing high quality maintenance services through the maintenance of safe and effective transportation systems and public infrastructure that support a desirable quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors, and to support the City organization with efficient and effective services for City buildings and fleet vehicles.

The Positions
The Building Maintenance Division of the Maintenance Operations Department is seeking experienced Building Maintenance Workers to provide HVAC maintenance support for all public facilities, such as City Hall, Historic Buildings, Fire Stations, Police Department, Recreation facilities, and Rental Housing. Building Maintenance Workers (HVAC) design, fabricate, inspect, install, troubleshoot and evaluate problems with HVAC equipment.  They also repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and related apparatus. Additionally, they install, repair and/or replace controls for energy management system as well as perform preventive maintenance and sheet metal work, including design and fabrication.

The Building Maintenance Division of the Maintenance Operations Department is also seeking experienced Building Maintenance Workers to provide general maintenance support for all public facilities, such as City Hall, Historic Buildings, Fire Stations, Police Department, Recreation facilities, and Rental Housing. Maintenance tasks for the general assignment typically include painting, electrical repairs, wall repair, roof repair, carpentry/metal work, and floor repair.

Schedule Availability:

Schedule assignments will be determined based on operational needs and availability.
